Job Description
Position Summary
Promotes positive team relations and demonstrates strong leadership through example. Communicates critical issues (what, who, when, where) to management in a timely manner. Essential Functions
Corporate:
- Adheres to the Hyundai Transys Georgia Powertrain (HTGP) policies and procedures

EHS:
- Adheres to all safety policies and procedures
- Complies with all safety policies and 5S clean philosophy to maintain a safe, clean working environment

Technical:
- Administers and monitors practices in the areas of safety, quality, and cost.
- Maintains plan for minor daily/weekly PM in QC lab Area.
- Performs rapid root cause analysis of inline issues and provides suggestions for prevention.
- Understand and applies correct LOTO procedures and leads others in same
- Treat all HGTP team members with respect and professional courtesy
- Maintains plan for minor daily/weekly PM in Salvage/Repair Area and Performance Test Lab.
- Rapid root cause analysis of customer and test rejects, creation of defect mapping of transmission.
- Maintains Test information - Top 10 issues, trending, report countermeasures.
- Development of standardized work instructions - equipment operation and transmission reprocessing.
- Install Transmission to vehicle for detail analysis and countermeasure as needed.
- Perform random hydraulic noise testing on transmission per frequency.
- Monitors current and develops new model parameter setting strategies - protect the customer/ minimize false rejects
- Interact with others to resolve quality issues; implement repair/containment procedures for repetitive quality defects; notify management and/or affected teams or departments in a timely manner as required.
- Visit customer per a schedule to assure unreported issues have occurred and to check for any transmissions in need of being returned for evaluation.
- Perform in-vehicle analysis to determine root cause of customers issue to prevent transmissions from being returned with no trouble found after analysis.
Leadership:
- Conducts training of new or existing employees and works to keep proper documentation on training records
- Ensures Team Members adhere to all HTGP policies and procedures
- Ensures team members are completing required tasks with audits of work and observation
- Promotes Department goals by providing guidance to all Team Members
- Builds and sustains positive relationships with Team Members and support organizations
- Works with Group Leader or Designee to effectively resolve conflicts and dispense discipline
- Supports leadership direction and decisions
Education
- High School/GED (required)
- Associates degree (preferred) or related work experience

- Reports to: QA Specialist-Salvage or designee

Physical Demands and Work Environment
Physical demands also at times may include safely handling multiple, continuous parts flow in and out of manufacturing operations work areas which requires pushing and pulling of carts. Work environment is climate controlled in most areas.
Position Requirements and Qualifications
- 3 - 5 years relevant job related experience required.
- 5+ years of automotive mechanic experience
- 1-2 years supervisory experience recommended.
- Automatic Transmission install and repair experience is a positive.

Other Information
- Must be available to move or work on other shifts as needed.
- Position may require domestic or international travel.

- Tier-1 Automotive (transmission) experience preferred.
- Cross Cultural Experience is preferred
