Tate Clinic Registered Nurse (RN)
Location: Boone, North Carolina | Full-Time | Clinic-Based | Non-Exempt

As a Registered Nurse (RN) at Tate Clinic, you'll play a critical role in delivering specialized nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures and wound care treatment. Working closely with surgeons, providers, and interdisciplinary team members, you'll guide patients through their preoperative and postoperative journey while promoting exceptional clinical outcomes and a positive patient experience.

Compensation: $28.00 - $40.60 per hour, based on education, experience, certification, and internal equity.

Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

What You'll Do as a Registered Nurse
Preoperative Assessment
-
Conduct thorough preoperative assessments for patients scheduled for surgical procedures.

Collect relevant medical history, medication information, and ensure patients are appropriately prepared for surgery.
Patient Education
-
Educate patients regarding preoperative instructions, including fasting requirements, medication management, and procedure preparation.

Provide detailed information regarding surgical procedures, recovery expectations, and postoperative care plans.
Wound Care Management
-
Provide specialized wound care management for patients with complex wound care needs.

Assess and monitor wounds, perform dressing changes, and collaborate with providers to support optimal healing outcomes.
Surgical Coordination
-
Communicate effectively with surgeons and coordinate the scheduling of surgical procedures.

Ensure all preoperative requirements are completed prior to surgery.
Postoperative Care
-
Monitor patients following surgical procedures and provide appropriate nursing care and interventions.

Address postoperative concerns or complications and collaborate with healthcare providers as needed.
Documentation & Compliance

Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of preoperative and postoperative assessments.

Ensure compliance with clinic protocols, regulatory requirements, and organizational standards.
Patient Advocacy & Collaboration

Advocate for patients and support a positive experience throughout the surgical process.

Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Participate in team meetings and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
What We're Looking For
Qualifications/Licenses
Education
-
Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
Experience
-
Minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience, preferably in a surgical or wound care clinic setting.
Required Licensure & Certifications

Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of North Carolina.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

In-depth knowledge of preoperative and postoperative nursing care.

Strong clinical assessment skills, particularly related to wound care management.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Familiarity with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods.

Lifting and carrying medical supplies and equipment up to 50 pounds occasionally.

Frequent bending, reaching, and manual dexterity for patient care activities and wound care procedures.

Work primarily within the Surgical and Wound Care Clinic at Tate Clinic.

Regular clinic hours with flexibility based on surgical schedules.

Frequent collaboration with surgeons, providers, and interdisciplinary healthcare team members.

Exposure to a variety of surgical and wound care cases in an outpatient setting.
