Holiday Retail Store Clerk in Baton Rouge, Louisiana at Martin Wine Cellar

We are accepting applications for part-time employees for a Holiday Retail Store Clerk at our Perkins Road location. Job duties include assisting with both cashier- and stock-related tasks.

This is a temporary hourly position for the holiday season (October - December). A permanent position may become available at the end of this period based on employee performance and store needs.

We are seeking employees with open availability to fill various schedules. Our Perkins location is open 7 days a week; no late nights. Availability on weekends is required. We will work with college students and their schedules.

Responsibilities of a Store Clerk:

● Managing transactions using a cash register

● Verifying customer age for alcohol purchases

● Bagging purchased goods and assisting customers with carry-outs

● Stocking and fronting shelves

● Assisting with incoming and outgoing deliveries

● Providing customer assistance by phone and in person

● Assisting with gift wrapping

● Maintaining the overall organization and cleanliness of the store

Store Clerk Job Requirements:

● One year retail or stocker experience, high school degree preferred

● Experience with POS systems and cash registers

● Exceptional customer service skills

● Ability to lift and carry wine/liquor boxes (40 pounds and up) for majority of the day

● Louisiana ATC-approved Responsible Vendor Card.
