Welder/Fitter – Structural Steel in Ashland, Virginia at Qualdoc, LLC

Starting Pay: $24.00/hour, with potential for higher pay depending on experience

We are hiring experienced Flux Core Welders and Welder/Fitters to fabricate and weld heavy industrial structural steel equipment and components. Candidates must be able to follow shop drawings, interpret welding symbols, and meet required welding test standards.

This is a contract-to-hire opportunity with the potential for full-time employment based on performance and business needs.

Overtime Available: Approximately 50–56 hours per week!

• Hands-on experience with Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW)

• Ability to pass a full-penetration vertical weld test

• Ability to pass an overhead fillet weld test

• Knowledge of AWS D1.1 welding standards

• Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and AWS weld symbols

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

• Must provide personal welding and safety equipment, including a welding helmet, gloves, and steel-toe boots

• Monday–Friday, with some Saturdays as needed

• First Shift: 6:00 AM–4:30 PM

• 10-hour workdays, with overtime as required

• Paid time off: 16 days per year after one year of employment, accrued throughout the year
