About the firm

Enso Law is a litigation-only firm that uses the law to do good. Our work covers a wide range of matters:

  • Municipal public safety: In this role, we advise policy counsel, partnering with city councils, city management, community leaders, and local law enforcement to design and carry out strategies against gang activity, human trafficking, and narcotics

  • Employment litigation, enforcing California and federal employment law

  • Commercial litigation for corporate clients

  • Intellectual property litigation, including trademark, trade secret, and copyright matters, with clients who include artists and musicians

The role

This position is for an attorney with experience and would include work in municipal public safety and commercial litigation.

You will work closely with our attorneys and staff and handle your own matters with real responsibility. That includes drafting pleadings and motions, taking and defending depositions, managing discovery, and appearing in court.

How attorneys develop at Enso

We train litigators in stages. Attorneys generally begin with nuisance abatement, then take on municipal defense, then business disputes, and from there move into our intellectual property litigation or civil rights class action practice. The pace depends on your performance, your interests, and the needs of the firm.

What we’re looking for

  • Active California bar license in good standing.

  • 3 years of civil litigation experience.

  • Outstanding research and writing skills.

  • The ability to manage a full caseload and meet deadlines.

  • Comfort working independently and remotely, with good communication.

  • Comfort using today’s legal software.

  • Real interest in intellectual property or civil rights class action work as a long-term goal.

Working arrangement

  • Fully remote.

  • Candidates must work California (Pacific Time) hours and be available for court appearances, depositions, and client meetings on California schedules.

Compensation

  • Full Benefits.

  • The firm provides equipment and reimburses reasonable business expenses.

Enso Law is an equal opportunity employer."

Compensation:

$150,000 - $185,000 yearly

Responsibilities:
  • Take responsibility for administrative staff relating to client invoicing/billing records, setting up meetings with clients and completing tasks
  • Provide legal counsel to clients by analyzing their needs and determining a proper course of action
  • Supervise administrative staff, paralegals, and law clerks
  • Get the appropriate legal documents ready for clients, such as brief, motions, and pleadings, as well as correspondence
  • Analyze client needs, identify solutions, and determine case strategies

Qualifications:
  • Public speaking, decision-making, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills are necessary for this role
  • Minimum 1-2 years’ experience working in a law firm environment
  • Must be able to handle heavy caseload with little supervision
