Postdoctoral Research Associate: Conservation Biology in Princeton, New Jersey at Princeton University
Job Description
Location: Princeton, NJ, USA
Salary Range or Pay Grade: $65,000 - $75,000
Description
The Center for Policy Research on Energy and the Environment at Princeton University invites applications for postdoctoral researchers to conduct research in conservation biology. The position reports to Professor David Wilcove. The appointment will be through the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs.
The successful applicant will have expertise in any of three research areas:
- Conservation of migratory species.
- Impact of the wildlife trade (domestic or international) on rare or declining species.
- Conservation of imperiled freshwater species, especially those associated with large rivers.
In all cases, priority will be given to research that involves more than one species, that addresses key ecological or environmental issues driving population declines, and that generates insights that can be used to inform conservation practices. Given the duration of this position (see Qualifications), projects requiring novel fieldwork are discouraged unless the fieldwork can be readily completed in under one year.
Qualifications
The research position requires a PhD in a relevant field. Applicants should have no more than two years of post-PhD research experience by the start of the appointment. Appointments will be made at the Postdoctoral Research Associate rank. Salary and full employee benefits are offered in accordance with Princeton University guidelines. Postdoctoral appointments will be for one year, renewable annually based on funding and meeting all other requirements.
This position is subject to the University’s background check policy. This position is not eligible for sponsorship of an H-1B visa requiring consular processing; other visa sponsorships (including H-1B visas not requiring consular processing) may be available, as appropriate.
