Director, Solutions Engineering

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Director, Solutions Engineering in the United States.

This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for a technical pre-sales expert passionate about AI, enterprise SaaS, and customer-centric innovation. In this role, you will lead and scale a Solutions Engineering organization responsible for driving technical excellence across strategic enterprise deals. You will work closely with executive stakeholders, engineering teams, and customer-facing leaders to shape technical sales strategy, optimize proof-of-concept execution, and strengthen customer trust throughout the sales lifecycle. The position combines hands-on technical engagement with leadership responsibilities, allowing you to influence product direction, develop scalable pre-sales processes, and mentor a growing team of Solutions Engineers. You will operate in a collaborative, remote-first environment focused on innovation, continuous improvement, and operational excellence. Accountabilities:
  • Lead and oversee the end-to-end pre-sales technical process, including discovery, demonstrations, proof-of-concept execution, security reviews, and technical deal closure.
  • Define and implement scalable Solutions Engineering strategies, playbooks, certification programs, and operational standards to ensure consistency and high performance across the team.
  • Drive technical conversations with executive-level stakeholders on topics such as AI architecture, cloud infrastructure, data governance, integrations, security, and enterprise scalability.
  • Establish and optimize demo frameworks, POC success criteria, technical workflows, and reusable enablement assets to improve conversion rates and reduce sales cycle complexity.
  • Hire, mentor, and develop Solutions Engineering talent while fostering a collaborative, high-performance, and AI-forward team culture.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Customer Success teams to align technical strategies, influence roadmap priorities, and improve customer onboarding continuity.
  • Develop and manage Solutions Engineering engagement models that maximize efficiency, strategic coverage, and resource allocation across enterprise opportunities.
  • Lead competitive technical positioning efforts by creating technical battlecards, objection-handling frameworks, and differentiated solution messaging.
  • Leverage AI tools and automation technologies daily to enhance demonstrations, personalize customer engagements, generate technical content, and improve operational insights.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in Sales Engineering or Solutions Engineering roles, including at least 3 years in a leadership capacity within enterprise SaaS or AI-driven technology environments.
  • Strong technical expertise in AI architecture, cloud infrastructure, enterprise security, data integrations, and scalable software platforms.
  • Proven ability to engage confidently with executive stakeholders including CIOs, CISOs, and enterprise architecture teams.
  • Experience building and scaling Solutions Engineering organizations, including team development, enablement programs, technical playbooks, and operational processes.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise sales cycles, technical discovery methodologies, proof-of-concept management, and pre-sales strategy execution.
  • Experience collaborating closely with Product and Engineering teams to influence product roadmaps and customer-driven innovation initiatives.
  • Familiarity with professional services, audit, compliance, governance, risk, or advisory industries is highly preferred.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, coaching, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to measure performance metrics such as win rates, technical cycle efficiency, POC conversion, and team productivity.
  • Comfortable operating in fast-paced, evolving environments with a hands-on leadership approach and strong focus on continuous improvement.
