Essential Functions:
- Tasks and activities of company’s fleet auto repair shop, working on gas- and diesel-powered vehicles, trucks, and heavy equipment.
- Performs preventive maintenance such as changing oil, greasing and replacing parts on a scheduled basis
- Under supervision, replaces parts and performs minor repairs as necessary
- Replaces designated lube fittings and tires utilizing air tools and hand tools
- Uses schematics, service manuals and parts lists in setting up and performing repairs
- Operate Fuel/Lube truck to deliver fuel/lube to equipment on site
- Performs other duties as required
- Performs all duties and activities in a manner that conforms to safety requirements
- Maintain work area clean and safe work practices
- Takes the initiative to get things done.
- Checks, communicate and fill necessary fluids (battery, powering steering, and washer fluid)-replace all caps.
Required Experience:
- 2 years of Diesel Mechanic experience
- DOT Certified Mechanic
- Hands on experience with lube, oil, filter, brakes, tire (auto, lt truck, commercial, and farm) preventative maintenance fluid flushes.
- Locate, diagnose and repair mechanical malfunctions in gas and diesel-powered vehicles and equipment.
- Ability to diagnose/troubleshoot regeneration systems
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems
- Must have experience using a standard/metric wrench and socket set, screwdrivers, hammer, impact gun and sockets, pry bar, alignment toe hooks, air hammer, tape measure, vise grips, torque bits, wheel bearing socket set, 12 volt test light, and oil filter tools to perform the duties of the GMT position
- Must be able to lift 50 Lbs. easily
- Lube tech: 1 year (Required)
- Truck Tire Installer: 1 year (Required)
- Must be able to provide your own tools
Work Environment
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
Physical Demands
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move products and supplies, up to 75 pounds.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 1 PM to 12PM -OT will be required as needed. Scheduled hours subject to change to meet business needs.
