Shifts Available:
- 1st Shift | Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM | Overtime Available
- 2nd Shift | Monday–Friday | 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM | Overtime Available
- 3rd Shift | Monday–Friday | 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM | Overtime Available
Compensation: Competitive Salary + 15% Shift Differential for off-shift hours + Overtime Available + Benefits Day #1
We are seeking an experienced CNC Setup Machinist to join our aerospace manufacturing team in Winsted, CT. In this role, you will independently set up, operate, and troubleshoot CNC machines to produce high-precision aerospace components that meet tight tolerances and strict quality standards.
The ideal candidate brings strong CNC setup experience in a precision manufacturing environment, with the ability to machine small, complex components from materials such as aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, Inconel, and other specialty alloys.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform complete setup and operation of CNC machines (2-axis, 3-axis, 4-axis, 5-axis and multi-axis as applicable).
- Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T requirements.
- Select and set up tooling, fixtures, collets, chucks, and machine offsets.
- Produce precision turned components to tight tolerances.
- Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections using precision measuring tools.
- Make offset adjustments and minor program edits to maintain quality and dimensional accuracy.
- Monitor tool wear and machining conditions to ensure efficiency and consistency.
- Troubleshoot machining, tooling, setup, and program issues.
- Ensure compliance with AS9100 aerospace quality standards and customer requirements.
- Maintain accurate production records, inspection reports, and documentation.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, and productivity.
What You Bring
- 3+ years CNC Machines (2-axis, 3-axis, 4-axis, 5-axis and multi-axis setup experience
- Aerospace or precision machining background strongly preferred
- Strong blueprint reading and GD&T skills
- Experience holding tight tolerances (±0.0005” or better preferred)
- Ability to use micrometers, calipers, indicators, and inspection tools
- Strong problem-solving and mechanical aptitude
