JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Recruiter
Employment Classification: Full Time / Hourly / Non-Exempt
Reports to: People & Culture Partner
Department: People & Culture
Position Summary:
Manage the full recruiting cycle with the support of the People & Culture (P&C) team, utilizing various channels to attract a diverse pool of candidates and ensuring a positive experience for all involved. Collaborate with hiring managers to understand departmental needs, review job descriptions, and improve recruitment strategies. Continuously seeking opportunities to enhance the candidate’s experience and streamline the recruiting process, while representing the organization at job fairs and training hiring managers on effective interviewing skills.
Major Areas of Responsibility:
- Manage the full cycle recruiting process with support from the People & Culture team.
- Utilize various channels such as job boards, social media, networking events, and community outreach to attract a diverse pool of candidates.
- Review resumes, conduct initial screenings, and coordinate interviews to assess candidates' skills, experience, and mission alignment.
- Work closely with hiring managers and team members to understand departmental needs, review job descriptions, and establish effective recruitment strategies.
- Provide a positive and engaging experience for candidates throughout the recruitment process, keeping them informed and involved at each stage.
- Plan, evaluate, research, and recommend systematic or process improvements in the recruiting function that results in hiring the best talent in a short period of time.
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve both the candidate experience and the recruiting process.
- Deliver a high-quality experience to our hiring managers and candidates.
- Collaborate with People & Culture to complete hiring process.
- Creates a high-value experience and positive image of the organization for all candidates and contributes to a high-quality orientation for those candidates hired.
- Secures transcripts and other documentation as part of the interview process.
- Attend job fairs and other sourcing opportunities as a representative of the organization.
- Assists with training/coaching hiring managers on interviewing skills.
- Attend staff and department meetings as appropriate.
- Other duties as assigned by P&C team leadership.
Knowledge, Skill, and Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma required, some college preferred.
- 3-5 years’ experience with full cycle recruiting; including sourcing, interviewing, creating job descriptions, and communicating with candidates required.
- Experience with Paylocity recruiting and Plum.io are a plus.
- Experience recruiting in an education environment is a plus.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills: Build and maintain effective relationships at all levels and quickly gain credibility.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple recruitment projects.
- Possess a valid California driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance. Position requires DMV clearance.
- Pre-employment screenings include criminal background check, FBI/DOJ fingerprinting, TB test, drug screen, and previous employment verification.

- Working Environment/Physical Requirements:
- This is primarily a desk job and requires a majority of hours at a computer.
- This is a hybrid position that requires most days in office in Santa Ana, CA.
- Position may require use of personal vehicle. Physical requirements include standing, sitting, typing, bending and lifting up to approximately 25 lbs. (i.e. tables, chairs, food, water, etc.).
- Modification to work schedule may be made based on needs of the Foundation.
