Camp Support Assistant (Seasonal/Part-Time) in San Antonio, Texas at Morgans Wonderland Management Company

Under the direction of the Camp Director, the Summer Camp Assistant provides support to various departments across Morgan’s Camp. This position is designed to provide meaningful work experience while exposing the employee to multiple areas of camp operations and facility management. The Summer Camp Assistant will work alongside Maintenance, Housekeeping, Food Service, Ranch, Operations, and other departments as needed while assisting with day-to-day tasks and special projects.

Essential Functions

• Assist camp departments with daily operational tasks and projects
• Support the maintenance, cleanliness, organization, and appearance of camp facilities, grounds, equipment, and vehicles
• Assist with food service operations, including meal service, dishwashing, dining hall setup, cleanup, and turnover between groups
• Assist with housekeeping and laundry operations as needed
• Assist with animal care and ranch operations under the direction of Ranch staff
• Support camp setup, breakdown, deliveries, stocking, and general logistical needs
• Support special events, camper sessions, and camp-wide initiatives as assigned
• Complete assigned tasks under the direction of the Camp Director and department supervisors
• Learn about the functions and responsibilities of various camp departments through hands-on experience

General

• Mitigate risk whenever possible and make safety recommendations to all departments
• Actively support and promote a safe environment and ensure that proper safety precautions are being followed
• Demonstrate professionalism and positive interactions with campers, guests, volunteers, and staff
• Support the mission and values of Morgan’s Camp in all daily work activities
• Any other duties as required

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 16 years of age
• Commitment to the mission and core values of Morgan’s Camp
• Ability to follow directions and complete assigned tasks independently
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn
• Ability to work effectively with a variety of staff members and departments
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and assignments
• Positive attitude and willingness to assist wherever needed

• Work is performed in a fast-paced indoor and outdoor environment
• Much physical effort required on a routine basis; ability to use up to 50 pounds of force frequently
