Job Description

Contract: Cargo Mission Contract (CMC)

Department: Engineering/Decal lab

Part-time/Full-time, 20-40 hours

The Cargo Mission Contract program managers, engineers, and staff members provide cargo mission engineering and integration services for NASA’s International Space Station (ISS) Program and Artemis campaign. For more than two decades, the team has carefully prepared cargo to withstand both the intense forces of a rocket launch and the microgravity of orbit to sustain human presence in space.

In collaboration with a variety of teams of professionals, the ISS systems’ hardware loads are evaluated and detailed cushion packaging designs are developed. In the engineering form operations department, packaging designs are created to offset launch loads exerted on the hardware items traveling to the ISS.
