With a coveted location neighboring the charms of River Oaks, and the culture of Uptown's energy, The Greenleigh is the one place that truly celebrates, and elevates, the unexpected nature of Houston.

At The Greenleigh, exceptional hospitality begins with creating an environment where guests and team members feel safe, welcome, and cared for. We are seeking a professional, service-oriented Security Officer to help maintain a secure and welcoming environment throughout the property while delivering exceptional guest service.

This role is responsible for monitoring hotel facilities, responding to security and safety concerns, conducting routine patrols, and assisting guests and team members while ensuring compliance with Makeready's safety standards and Guiding Principles.

Required Tasks

  • Monitor the property to ensure the safety and security of guests, team members, visitors, and hotel facilities.
  • Conduct regular patrols of guest areas, back-of-house spaces, parking facilities, and surrounding property grounds.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to security incidents, emergencies, guest requests, and safety concerns.
  • Prepare accurate incident reports and maintain documentation of security-related activities.
  • Assist with emergency response procedures, including evacuations and other safety protocols when necessary.
  • Monitor security equipment and report any issues involving surveillance systems, alarms, or access controls.
  • Provide a visible, approachable, and professional presence throughout the hotel.
  • Assist guests by providing directions, responding to questions, and supporting a welcoming guest experience.
  • Report unsafe conditions, suspicious activity, or maintenance concerns to hotel leadership.
  • Work collaboratively with hotel departments to promote a safe and secure environment.

Requested Capabilities

  • Prior experience in hotel security, hospitality, law enforcement, military service, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong understanding of safety procedures and emergency response protocols.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to remain calm, professional, and composed in emergency or high-pressure situations.
  • Strong attention to detail, situational awareness, and sound judgment.
  • Professional, dependable, and service-oriented demeanor.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and work both indoors and outdoors as needed.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts.
  • CPR, First Aid, or other relevant safety certifications are a plus.
