Job Description

Description: We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Gastroenterologist to join our established gastroenterology practice. The ideal candidate will specialize in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of disorders related to the digestive system, including the esophagus, stomach, intestines, liver, pancreas, and biliary system. The Gastroenterologist role involves providing both outpatient and inpatient care, performing endoscopic procedures, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care.

Founded in 2011, Florida Digestive Health Specialists (FDHS) is the state's largest single-specialty, physician-owned gastroenterology practice. FDHS provides unparalleled, compassionate gastroenterology care. Essential Duties:

  • Diagnose and treat conditions affecting the gastrointestinal tract, liver, and pancreas.
  • Perform endoscopic procedures including colonoscopies, upper endoscopies (EGDs), and other relevant diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in hospital and surgery center.
  • Develop comprehensive care plans, including medical, dietary, and surgical treatment options for patients with gastrointestinal diseases.
  • Collaborate with other specialists and primary care physicians to provide continuity of care.
  • Participate in call rotation one weekend every four weeks to provide 24/7 coverage for patient needs.
  • Review and interpret diagnostic tests such as biopsies, imaging studies, and lab results.
  • Educate patients and their families about digestive health, treatment plans, and preventive care.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, documenting care provided, diagnostic findings, and treatments.
  • Stay current with medical advancements and updates in gastroenterology by attending conferences, seminars, and professional development activities.
  • Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Board certification or eligibility in Gastroenterology.
  • Valid state medical license and DEA certification.
  • Completion of a fellowship in Gastroenterology.
  • Proficiency in performing and interpreting endoscopic procedures.
  • Strong diagnostic skills with a deep understanding of gastrointestinal anatomy and pathology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Commitment to providing high-quality patient care with compassion and empathy.
  • Knowledge of EMR systems and ability to document patient records accurately.

Working Conditions:

  • Fast-paced clinical setting, including outpatient clinics, hospital rounds, and endoscopy suite.
  • Some travel may be required for multiple practice locations.
