Job Title:

Senior Accountant (On-Site)

Department:

Finance (Reports to Director of Financial Planning & Analysis)

Position Overview:

The experienced Senior Accountant will oversee the financial operations at Twang's HQ in San Antonio, TX. This role will be responsible for managing the complete accounting function, developing and implementing financial policies and procedures, and producing accurate financial reports. This role is crucial in guiding financial decisions and maintaining the financial health of the organization.

What You’ll Do:

Month and Year-End Close:

· Fully own month and year-end close process end-to end, including but not limited to accruals, journal entries, reconciliations, and other procedures necessary to finalize ERP financial information in adherence with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) policies for reporting purposes.

Financial Reporting:

· Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements and cash flow statements.

· Ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial information in compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements, to management, investors, lenders, and other interested parties.

· Provide insightful analysis of financial performance and trends to support decision-making processes.

Financial Operations Management:

· Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and general ledger activities.

· Develop and implement efficient accounting procedures to streamline processes, automate workflows, and improve accuracy.

· Maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

· Lead elements of the budgeting and forecasting process, collaborating with department heads to develop accurate financial plans (including, but not limited to manufacturing spend, cost absorption, logistics, revenue, balance sheet…).

· Monitor budget variances and provide recommendations to management for cost optimization and resource allocation.

Cost Accounting:

· Perform analysis on existing cost data and evaluate its accuracy and relevance.

· Develop/maintain detailed cost models for our various production lines.

· Determine costing rates and pricing strategies based on data analysis.

Team Leadership and Development:

· Mentor junior accounting staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.

· Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, encouraging teamwork and professional growth within the team.

Audit and Compliance:

· Coordinate external audits and ensure timely completion of audit requirements.

· Send information to our tax consultants when requested for Tax compliance.

· Stay current with accounting regulations and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and standards.

· Manage sales taxes to ensure compliance with state and national laws.

Strategic Planning and Decision Support:

· Collaborate with senior management to develop financial strategies and long-term plans for business growth.

· Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support strategic initiatives and investment decisions.

What We’re Looking For:

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required

· 5-10 years in accounting or financial management roles, preferably in the manufacturing industry.

· Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations, including GAAP.

· Proficiency in accounting software.

· Advanced Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (combining Sumifs, Index, Match; Pivot Tables; keyboard shortcuts).

· Understanding of cost accounting in the manufacturing industry.

· Sales Tax Experience.

· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.

· Leadership and team management skills, with experience in coaching and mentorship.

· Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.

· Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

· Commitment to integrity, ethics and confidentiality in handling financial information.

· Must be bilingual – Spanish/English.

The pay range for this role is:100,000 - 105,000 USD per year(Twang HQ)
