3+ Years, Divorce & Custody (Williamsville, NY)

The Abeel Firm PLLC is a growing divorce and family law firm in Williamsville, NY, helping clients move from chaos and conflict toward clarity, stability, and new beginnings. We're looking for an experienced family law paralegal who can step in and run with active matters from day one. Someone organized, dependable, and steady under pressure who takes real pride in doing the work well.

This is not an entry-level or "learn as you go" role. We need a seasoned professional who already knows family law inside and out and is ready to be a key part of a firm that is intentionally building strong systems, clear workflows, and a better way of serving clients.

Why You'll Love Working Here

  • Meaningful work: Your work directly helps families through some of the hardest moments of their lives, with care and precision.
  • A calm, professional environment: We value maturity, strategy, and composure over chaos, drama, and emotional escalation.
  • Strong pay and real upside: Competitive base pay plus performance bonuses tied to clear, attainable goals.
  • The chance to build something: Your judgment, ideas, and systems mindset will help shape how this firm grows.
  • Room to grow: We are building for the long term and want people who want to grow with us.
Compensation:

$32 per hour plus performance bonuses

Responsibilities:

What You'll Do

  • Manage family law case files from intake through resolution, keeping matters organized and moving forward.
  • Draft legal documents, including net worth statements, correspondence, stipulations, and uncontested divorce packets.
  • Enter financial data and prepare net worth statements using Family Law Software.
  • Handle e-filing through EDDS and NYSCEF.
  • Track court dates, deadlines, adjournments, and next steps across active matters.
  • Request adjournments from the court and opposing counsel.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and third parties.
  • Prepare files and materials so matters are ready for conferences, hearings, and next steps.
  • Coordinate document signings and notarizations.
  • Help refine workflows, checklists, templates, and internal systems so our work stays consistent and high-quality.

Qualifications:

What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years of hands-on family law experience. You can manage cases independently from intake to resolution and do not need training on the basics.
  • Proven experience drafting family law documents and managing active case files in a live practice.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail. You think in checklists, timelines, and repeatable processes.
  • Reliable, in-office presence and comfort with timekeeping, billable expectations, and structured, accountable workflows.
  • Calm, clear, professional communication, even under pressure.
  • A proactive mindset. You notice what needs to happen next and keep matters moving without being asked.
  • Comfortable with technology such as Clio, Family Law Software, Adobe Acrobat, and Asana, or able to learn new tools quickly.
