Crouse’s Cardiac Catheterization Lab is hiring for a Registered Nurse (RN) to working the Holding Area. The Holding Area Nurse is a critical member of the cardiac procedural team, responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to patients in the pre- and post-procedural holding areas of the Cardiac Catheterization Lab and Electrophysiology (EP) Lab.
This role involves preparing patients for diagnostic and interventional procedures, closely monitoring them post-procedure, managing discharge processes, and ensuring safe transitions of care in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment.
Pay Range: $39.78 - $51.50 / hour
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 6:00am-4:30pm, with other shifts as needed
Registered Nurse (RN) Position Responsibilities:
- Provides professional judgment and knowledge of roles as it pertains to the Crouse Hospital Professional Nursing Practice Model.
- Carries out duties and responsibilities per legal requirements under the Registered Nurse Scope of Practice, with emphasis on leading a culture of safe care.
- Responsible for all activities requiring assessment, planning, diagnosing, evaluating, judgment, problem-solving, creating and implementing the plan of care.
- Provides appropriate education to patients and families to promote health, facilitate rehabilitation and maintain wellness. Evaluates effectiveness and revises as appropriate.
- Monitors and evaluates patient responses to treatment/plan of care during hospital stay.
- Utilizes and engages in evidence based practice to deliver quality patient care.
- Demonstrates characteristics and skills that promote critical thinking in clinical problem solving situations.
Requirements:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at time of hire or within 2 weeks after hire.
- Minimum of two (2) years of critical Care, emergency or procedural area nursing experience.
- Prior experience in Cardiac Cath Lab or EP lab settings strongly preferred.
