Italian (L2) Language Teacher in Rome (Municipio IX) in Roma at Global LT

Join the Global LT community and help provide language lessons to business professionals and their families worldwide. We are currently hiring an Italian Language (L2) Teacher to provide in-person lessons to our clients in Rome.

Job Information

• Ref. # 199311/199312. Two adults, husband and wife, taking separate lessons.

• Location: Lessons are to be held at the students' home in Rome (Municipio Roma IX, Quartiere XXXII)

• Preferred start date: September/October 2026

Details

• Availability:
  - Husband: Weekdays after 5pm - TBC with the teacher
  - Wife: Can be flexible from Mondays to Fridays - TBC with the teacher

• Lesson Frequency and Duration:
  - Husband: Twice per week, 1 or 2 hours per session
  - Wife: Twice per week, 1:30 hour per session

• Current language level: Beginner (both students)

• Native language: Flemish; they also speak English and French
  
• Students' language needs and goals:
  - Husband: Building fluency as soon as possible. Within a few months, he will have to conduct external meetings with customers and suppliers. He needs to build confidence in business conversations, develop strong listening comprehension skills and professional vocabulary, communicate effectively in real-world business settings.
  - Wife: Navigating daily life in Italy, communicating confidently with locals in everyday situations (shopping, restaurants, public transport, appointments), building practical conversational skills for real-world interactions.
  
• Learning preferences:
  - Husband: Enjoys conversation practice and simulated real-life scenarios, values understanding language rules while keeping strong focus on practical application, appreciates clear lesson plans, not interested in game-based learning, is comfortable practicing independently.
  - Wife: Enjoys conversation practice and real-life scenarios such as going to shops or cafés together, values structured lessons with flexibility from the teacher, open to varied learning methods and specialist support, appreciates clear lesson objectives.
  
• Interests:
  - Husband: Business-related conversations and professional communication.
  - Wife: Interior decoration, cooking, travel, hand crafts, reading.

Responsibilities

• Delivering tailored, dynamic, effective, and engaging lessons

• Developing curricula based on learners’ proficiency level and desired outcomes

• Monitoring students’ progress and guiding learners toward learning goals

• Communicating in an efficient, effective, and professional manner

Qualifications

• Native or near-native written and spoken proficiency in Italian

• Degree or certification in language teaching, education, instructional design, writing, language, linguistics, second language acquisition, or related field

• Minimum of two years of Italian (L2) teaching experience
