Lot Viewing Assistant 2026 in New York, New York at Heritage Capital Corporation

SUMMARY: Heritage Auctions is seeking seasonal assistance during weekday, evening, and weekend exhibitions and special events. This position combines customer service and security to ensure smooth operations and an exceptional client experience. The ideal candidate has interest in Collectibles, Jewelry, Fine and Decorative Art and thrives in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.

COMPENSATION: $18/hr

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensuring the safety and security of clients and auction items

Assist clients with examining items during exhibitions and special events while following security protocols

Assistance with setup and packing of exhibitions and special events

Occasional support various departments with administrative tasks

Ability to stand for periods of time between breaks

Available to work weekends and evenings as necessary

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree or experience in a related field preferred
• Experience or working knowledge of luxury brands and/or the auction industry is preferred
• Professional, polished demeanor - Business attire required for exhibitions and special events
• Discretion and professionalism in handling confidential client and business information
• Committed, reliable and capable of working well as part of a team
• Excellent communication and ability to accurately follow detailed instructions
• A genuine passion for Collectibles, Jewelry, Fine and Decorative Art in the auction industry

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Individuals must be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment. During peak periods, there may be mandatory overtime, such as working extended hours, nights, and weekends. This position may require overnight travel based on business needs.
