Job Description

NOTE: This is not a remote-based role.

PRIMARY PURPOSE

Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, analyze new credit requests, renewals and annual reviews assigned by the Credit Manager. Develop and analyze credit information for commercial real estate loans, complex commercial & industrial loans and revolving & non-revolving construction loans. Regularly prepare credit presentations at the loan committee and board of directors approval level. Prepares regulatory reporting information with regard to loans and supports lenders with the analysis and administration of loans. Role may include decisioning credits in a limited capacity.

SALARY RANGE: $85,000 - $110,000 Annually

SCHEDULE: Full-time; Monday – Friday; 37.5-hour work week, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform detailed financial analysis on business entities and interprets the financial information based on financial statements, tax returns and company prepared documents.
  • Accounting, financing, traditional cash flow, UCA and property operating analysis knowledge.
  • Perform credit, personal financial statement and personal cash flow analysis on individuals and guarantors in order to determine financial strength and credit enhancements based on financial statements, tax returns and reports.
  • Prepare credit presentations for new approvals, renewals and annual reviews based upon financial analysis for presentations to loan officers, loan committee and board.
  • Regularly perform loan presentations to loan committee and board.
  • Recommend specific loan structures to enhance credit quality.
  • Accompany lenders on customer site visits and customer interviews.
  • Contributes to team responsibility for insuring satisfactory audit, loan review and other asset quality metrics.
  • Capacity to review and approve loans.
  • Acts as a mentor and participates in the on-going development of the underwriting staff through review of the presentations and provides feedback to the underwriting management team.
  • Maintain accurate knowledge of MB credit, practices and regulatory policies to assist bank in compliance.
  • Ability to manage a heavy workload while balancing several loan underwritings simultaneously.


JOB SPECIFICATIONS

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to read and assess individual and company financial statements, tax returns, cash flow, industry and competitive analysis and projections.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to complete assignments in a timely manner with minimal direction.
  • Exceptional written and verbal skills.
  • Exceptional problem recognition and resolution skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Working knowledge of all commercial products and services.
  • Ability to meet deadlines under stressed scenarios.


EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, accounting, economics or equivalent work background and experience.
  • 7 - 10 years of experience in credit analysis required.

WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Working conditions are those of an “open” office environment, which can require the ability to manage some stress such as noise level from clients, employees, and general office equipment, etc. Ability to work remotely in a secure, private and noise-free environment. Daily use of wrists, hands, and fingers: to use computer, telephone, fax, copier, and general office equipment. Ability to hear and speak clearly for gathering simple to complex information from both clients and co-workers. Sitting for extended periods of time (up to 8 hours), standing, and walking up to 20% of work time. Ability to bend and lift boxes and bags, up to approximately 10lbs.
