PureGreen is looking for an experienced and motivated Irrigation Crew Leader to lead our commercial irrigation installation crews. This role is responsible for ensuring irrigation systems are installed safely, efficiently, and to PureGreen quality standards while developing crew members and maintaining excellent communication throughout each project. ROLE SUMMARYThe Irrigation Crew Leader is responsible for leading a commercial irrigation installation crew while ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and according to design specifications and PureGreen quality standards. This position plays a key role in daily planning, material preparation, quality control, crew development, and communication with the Landscape Installation Manager.
This role is ideal for someone with strong leadership skills, commercial irrigation experience, and the ability to motivate a team while maintaining high standards of quality and professionalism.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIESCrew Leadership & Operations• Lead and supervise a commercial irrigation installation crew
• Confirm all crew members are present and prepared before leaving the shop each day
• Plan and review daily work schedules to maximize productivity and efficiency
• Lead by example while promoting teamwork, accountability, and professionalism
• Enforce company safety policies and maintain a safe work environment on every job site
• Lay out irrigation systems according to design plans and project specifications
• Ensure irrigation installations are completed accurately, efficiently, and to PureGreen quality standards
• Make field adjustments when necessary while maintaining project integrity
• Perform quality inspections throughout each project to ensure customer satisfaction
• Maintain clean, organized, and professional job sites
• Prepare and stage all required materials before scheduled work begins
• Communicate material needs and job site requirements promptly to the Landscape Installation Manager
• Ensure trucks, trailers, tools, and equipment are fueled, maintained, and job-site ready each day
• Perform routine maintenance on tools and irrigation equipment
• Ensure trucks, trailers, and equipment are thoroughly cleaned at the end of each work week
• Communicate daily project progress and updates with the Landscape Installation Manager
• Train and develop crew members on irrigation installation techniques, equipment operation, and safety procedures
• Maintain professional communication with team members, customers, and project managers
• Lead by example through professionalism, accountability, and strong work ethic
• Previous experience leading commercial irrigation installation crews required
• Strong knowledge of commercial irrigation systems and installation practices
• Ability to read and interpret landscape and irrigation blueprints
• Experience with both conventional wired and 2-wire irrigation systems
• Skilled in operating trenchers and irrigation installation equipment
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Ability to train, mentor, and develop crew members
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
• Valid driver's license required
• Willingness to work overtime and occasional weekends as needed
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Ability to perform physical labor including bending, kneeling, lifting, and reaching throughout the workday
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
$20-$26 per hour, Competitive hourly pay based on experience
