About the Role:
The Dock Lead plays a critical role in overseeing and coordinating all activities related to the shipping and receiving operations within a manufacturing facility. This position ensures the efficient and safe movement of materials, products, and equipment through the dock area, directly impacting production schedules and customer satisfaction. The Dock Lead is responsible for leading a shift of dock workers, providing guidance and support to maintain high standards of productivity and safety compliance. This role requires close collaboration with warehouse, production, and logistics teams to optimize workflow and resolve any issues that may arise during loading and unloading processes. Ultimately, the Dock Lead supports the Supervisor by ensuring that all dock operations are executed smoothly, accurately, and in alignment with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in dock operations or warehouse management within a manufacturing environment.
- Proven leadership experience managing a team in a fast-paced industrial setting.
- Strong knowledge of safety standards and regulatory compliance related to dock and warehouse operations.
- Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Forklift operator certification and experience with various types of material handling equipment.
- Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control software.
- Demonstrated success in implementing process improvements or lean manufacturing principles.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Bilingual in Spanish/English
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and coordinate daily dock operations under the direction of the supervisor, including loading, unloading, and staging of materials and finished goods.
- Lead a team of dock workers, including scheduling, training, and performance management.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with warehouse, production, and logistics departments to optimize dock workflows and resolve operational challenges.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, deliveries, and inventory movements to support operational transparency and reporting.
- Conduct regular inspections of dock equipment and facilities, coordinating maintenance or repairs as needed.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance dock efficiency and reduce turnaround times.

The Dock Lead utilizes strong leadership and communication skills daily to effectively manage and motivate their team, ensuring clear understanding of tasks and safety protocols. Organizational skills are essential for coordinating complex dock schedules and maintaining accurate shipment records. Technical skills, including forklift operation and familiarity with warehouse management systems, enable the Dock Lead to oversee equipment use and inventory tracking efficiently. Problem-solving abilities are critical when addressing operational challenges or unexpected delays, allowing the Dock Lead to implement timely solutions. - Monday through Friday 5am-1:30pm
- Tuesday through Saturday 9am-5:30pm
