Position Overview:
ABC Recycling Ltd. is seeking a Logistics Coordinator based out of our corporate head office in Burnaby, B.C. The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day transportation processes of our metal recycling facilities in Southern BC and delivery to WA. This includes coordinating with each facility on a daily basis to ensure capacity is available for inbound and outbound shipments.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate domestic and international shipments from our Burnaby facility.
- Schedule containers, transportation, and drayage while ensuring shipping deadlines are met.
- Prepare export documentation, including invoices, packing lists, load plans, shipping documents, and customer packages.
- Enter and maintain customer contracts and shipment information in company systems.
- Coordinate inspections and ensure export compliance requirements are met.
- Track shipments from booking through payment and release.
- Match customer payments to invoices and support accounts receivable processes.
- Review and approve freight invoices while resolving billing discrepancies.
- Prepare operational and financial reports for internal departments.
- Coordinate daily dispatch activities for trailers, roll-off bins, tote bins, and other equipment.
- Schedule customer pickups and deliveries while communicating with operations and sales teams.
- Track equipment locations and maintain accurate logistics records.
- Provide freight quotes and transportation support to customers and internal teams.
- Respond to customer inquiries and help resolve service-related issues.
- Support additional logistics functions and provide backup coverage for the Senior Logistics Coordinator when required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2+ years’ customer service experience in a high-volume work environment.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Understanding of the INCOTERMS.
- Understanding of Transport limitations (weight and/or dimensions).
- Ocean Freight/ Freight Forwarding experience will be an asset.
