The Assembly / Clean Room Technician is responsible for assembling, cleaning, inspecting, and packaging components and finished products according to customer specifications, work instructions, and quality standards. This position requires strong attention to detail and the ability to work carefully in a controlled, clean environment.
The ideal candidate is dependable, quality-focused, organized, and comfortable following detailed written procedures. The Assembly / Clean Room Technician will work closely with the Assembly, Quality, and Production teams to ensure products are assembled correctly, meet customer requirements, and are properly handled throughout the manufacturing process.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Perform detailed assembly of components and finished products using hand tools, fixtures, and other assembly equipment.
- Follow work instructions, drawings, routers, BOMs, and other production documentation.
- Perform cleaning and preparation of components in accordance with established procedures.
- Work within a controlled clean room environment and follow all applicable clean room protocols.
- Properly gown and maintain required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Handle components carefully to prevent contamination, damage, scratches, or other defects.
- Inspect parts and assemblies for cleanliness, workmanship, appearance, and conformance to specifications.
- Perform basic measurements and inspections using appropriate gauges and inspection equipment.
- Complete required production, inspection, cleaning, and traceability documentation accurately.
- Identify and report quality issues, defects, or discrepancies to the appropriate supervisor or Quality personnel.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow established procedures for material handling, labeling, packaging, and product identification.
- Package finished products according to customer and internal specifications.
- Maintain proper segregation and identification of accepted, rejected, and work-in-process materials.
- Meet established production schedules while maintaining quality standards.
- Work collaboratively with other departments to resolve production or quality issues.
- Follow all company safety, quality, and environmental policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous manufacturing, assembly, clean room, medical device, aerospace, electronics, or other precision manufacturing experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to read and follow detailed written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to work with small components and perform repetitive, precision-oriented tasks.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand tools.
- Basic computer skills and ability to complete electronic or written production records.
- Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to perform repetitive hand and finger movements.
- Ability to use hand tools and manipulate small components.
- Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to approximately 30 pounds.
- Ability to wear required clean room garments and PPE for extended periods.
- Ability to work in a controlled environment and follow gowning and cleanliness requirements.
- Work is primarily performed in a clean room and controlled manufacturing environment.
- Employees must follow established clean room procedures, including gowning, personal hygiene, material handling, and contamination-control requirements.
- The position may require occasional work in other areas of the manufacturing facility.
- Safety glasses and other required PPE must be worn as directed.
- Consistently produce quality work that meets customer and company specifications.
- Follow procedures and work instructions accurately.
- Maintain clean room standards and prevent product contamination.
- Complete required documentation accurately and on time.
