As a Software Engineer, you’ll help build and improve the software systems behind SDMyers’ digital strategy. You’ll work across customer-facing platforms, internal applications, field tools, data systems, APIs, integrations, and emerging AI-enabled workflows.

You’ll work closely with Product Development, Data, IT, analysts, field services, operations, and customer-facing teams to turn ideas into reliable, maintainable, and scalable technology.

What You’ll DoSoftware Development
  • Build, improve, and maintain software for customer-facing platforms, field applications, digital products, and internal business applications.
  • Develop across the full technology stack, including backend services, frontend interfaces, databases, APIs, integrations, and automation workflows.
  • Translate product strategies and business requirements into technical plans, development tasks, and working software.
  • Design and develop reliable, maintainable, and scalable applications.
APIs, Data & Integrations
  • Develop and maintain APIs, application services, data pipelines, and system integrations supporting mySDMyers, field applications, internal systems, and customer data-delivery capabilities.
  • Build integrations between SDMyers systems, third-party services, Microsoft ecosystem tools, operational databases, and customer-facing data channels.
  • Work with relational databases and data structures to ensure information moves reliably between systems.
  • Help identify data dependencies, data-quality issues, system boundaries, and source-of-truth considerations.
Architecture & Technical Infrastructure
  • Help steward SDMyers’ digital infrastructure alongside software vendors, IT partners, and internal technical teams.
  • Help identify and prioritize technical debt, system improvements, platform decisions, and long-term technology needs.
  • Evaluate technical solutions while balancing customer needs, commercial considerations, security, maintainability, and scalability.
  • Help understand and manage the system-wide impact of software changes across applications, databases, field tools, reports, analytics, and customer platforms.
Development Practices
  • Help establish and improve developer tooling, documentation, templates, testing practices, release processes, and CI/CD workflows.
  • Participate in code reviews and collaborate with technical partners on architecture, debugging, data structures, system dependencies, and technical planning.
  • Troubleshoot complex software issues and perform root-cause analysis.
  • Continuously learn and evaluate new technologies that can improve SDMyers’ digital capabilities.
AI & Emerging Technology
  • Contribute to AI-enabled workflows and digital products where they provide meaningful value.
  • Help ensure software, data, and AI functionality are developed responsibly and align with SDMyers’ values, customer trust, security, and responsible-use principles.
What We’re Looking ForRequired Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical field.

Software Engineering

  • Strong software engineering fundamentals, including:
    • Clean and maintainable code
    • Software architecture
    • Testing
    • Debugging
    • Version control
    • Secure development practices
  • Working knowledge of backend application development.
  • Experience with RESTful API design, authentication/authorization, middleware, asynchronous processing, and service integration.
  • Experience with modern frontend development, including component-based interfaces, state management, forms, validation, accessibility, and responsive design.
  • Strong understanding of relational database design, schema modeling, queries, migrations, constraints, indexing, and performance.

Technology
Experience or familiarity with technologies such as:

  • TypeScript
  • JavaScript
  • SQL
  • Node.js
  • React
  • Angular
  • Python
  • Django, Flask, or FastAPI

Our technology stack will continue to evolve as SDMyers’ product architecture develops, so we value strong engineering fundamentals and the ability to learn new technologies.

Experience

  • 3–7 years of professional software development experience preferred.
  • Experience building, deploying, and maintaining production software.
  • Experience working across backend, frontend, database, and integration technologies.
  • Experience supporting software throughout its lifecycle, from development through deployment and maintenance.
Nice to Have
  • Experience with APIs, ETL/ELT, event-driven systems, file-based data exchange, or third-party system connectors.
  • Experience with cloud or hybrid environments.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft and Azure technologies, including:
    • Azure
    • Azure ML
    • Power BI
    • SQL Server / SSMS
    • GitHub
    • Visual Studio
  • Experience working with real-world operational data systems.
  • Experience integrating multiple business applications or third-party platforms.
