Free Standing Lead in Edmond, Oklahoma at Jetta Corporation

The Freestanding Production Lead is a working lead who coordinates daily workflow across Solid Surface, Gel-Coat, Glassing, Bonding, and Cleaning & Finishing — providing technical guidance, training, and quality oversight. The Lead resolves routine production issues and escalates to the Plant Supervisor - Freestanding as needed, while working alongside the team.

Essential Job Functions

1. Production Workflow Coordination

• Coordinate the daily flow of work between Solid Surface Production, Glassing, Bonding, and Cleaning & Finishing.

• Assist in prioritizing production activities based on direction from the Freestanding Manager.

• Monitor work-in-process and identify bottlenecks.

• Communicate production delays, quality concerns, equipment issues, or material shortages.

2. Technical Leadership

• Serve as the primary technical resource for production team members.

• Provide hands-on assistance and fill in for production positions as needed.

• Assist in troubleshooting production and quality issues.

• Reinforce established manufacturing procedures and best practices.

3. Training & Development

• Train and cross-train team members.

• Demonstrate proper manufacturing techniques and safe work practices.

• Provide coaching and communicate additional training needs to the Freestanding Manager.

4. Quality Support

• Promote a culture of quality.

• Monitor workmanship and identify defects before products move to the next operation.

• Assist with corrective actions and support root cause investigations.

5. Safety Leadership

• Lead by example in maintaining a safe workplace.

• Ensure proper PPE use and reinforce safe handling of chemicals and equipment.

• Report unsafe conditions immediately.

6. Continuous Improvement

• Support Lean Manufacturing and 5S initiatives.

• Recommend workflow and process improvements.

7. Communication

• Serve as a communication link between production team members and the Freestanding Manager.

• Promote teamwork and keep the Manager informed of production status and issues.

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Experience

• Minimum three (3) years of manufacturing experience.

• Demonstrated proficiency in multiple Freestanding Production operations.

• Previous experience training or mentoring team members preferred.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

• Manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, resins, adhesives, solvents, and fiberglass materials.

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 pounds.

• Required use of PPE.
