MASTER TEACHER in Orefield, Pennsylvania at KidsPeace Childrens Hospital

The Master Teacher of Education is responsible for assisting the Assistant Director of Education in the supervision of educational staff through coordination of education due process, student records, and documentation for regulatory bodies and KidsPeace.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. PA Public School Instructional II Special Education Certification Required - OR- PA Public School Instructional II Certification with a minimum of five years behavioral health experience required.
2. Master's Degree in Education.
3. Supervisory experience preferred and a minimum of five years classroom teaching experience.
4. Must be at least 21 years of age.
5. Experience with acute emotionally challenged children or adolescents preferred.
6. Valid driver’s license, SCM certification, CPR/First Aid certification required.
7. Must have the ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, flexible hours, and overtime as required.

JOB DUTIES:

1. Oversee all special education program / compliance issues such as scheduling and maintaining documentation related to Individual Education Plans (IEP).
2. Act as liaison to Salisbury LEA, outside districts, agencies, and out of state child study teams.
3. Assist in orientation of new staff and classroom observations.
4. Oversee and coordinate all documentation for regulatory bodies and KidsPeace.
5. Assist in the curriculum development, maintenance and inventory of materials and manuals.
6. Coordinate the completion of lesson plans, report cards, transcripts and treatment plans.
7. Assist in staff selection, termination, professional development, and evaluation of current staff.
8. Receive notice of employee absences, coordinate substitute coverage and relay information to affected personnel.
9. Aid and support the administration of the school
