This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an AVP, Patient Access & Pre-Access based in United States.

This executive leadership role oversees the strategic direction and operational performance of Patient Access and Pre-Access functions across multiple healthcare client partnerships.
You will lead large, geographically dispersed teams while driving modernization, standardization, and continuous improvement across the patient access lifecycle.
The role serves as a key connection point between client leadership, business development, implementation teams, and operational service lines.
You will use performance data, emerging technologies, and AI-driven capabilities to identify opportunities, reduce barriers, and improve operational outcomes.
Success requires strong executive presence, financial and operational judgment, and the ability to translate enterprise strategy into measurable execution.
The position offers significant influence over growth, client satisfaction, workforce effectiveness, and long-term operational transformation.
This is a remote opportunity with extensive weekly travel to client, corporate, and other assigned locations across the United States.

Accountabilities
  • Provide strategic vision, leadership, and operational oversight for Patient Access functions and senior access leaders across the organization.

  • Lead Patient Access assessments, implementations, integrations, virtual registration, public benefits, dedicated client support resources, and related operational initiatives.

  • Serve as a strategic bridge between business development, implementation teams, client executives, and operational service lines to ensure successful deployment and sustained adoption of Patient Access strategies.

  • Lead modernization initiatives covering departmental goals, performance metrics, action plans, technology adoption, policy and process standardization, and internal communication.

  • Establish and monitor KPIs, reporting frameworks, and operational performance measures to identify trends, address risks, and improve outcomes.

  • Build strong relationships with operational and executive stakeholders while promoting accountability, collaboration, and consistent execution.

  • Develop communication strategies that strengthen employee engagement, productivity, morale, and understanding of organizational priorities.

  • Establish clear organizational structures, accountabilities, delegation models, and leadership practices while avoiding operational silos.

  • Recruit, coach, evaluate, and develop senior leaders and professional teams, including workforce planning, retention, cross-training, and succession considerations.

  • Partner with other leaders to ensure coordinated and compliant revenue cycle processes across functions.

  • Support budget management, resource planning, staffing decisions, and operational investment priorities.

  • Ensure teams understand and comply with applicable laws, regulations, guidelines, policies, and healthcare requirements.

  • Apply AI, automation, and emerging technologies to improve operational performance and translate innovation into measurable business outcomes.

  • Lead change management efforts and move new operating models and technologies from experimentation through scalable implementation.

  • Travel weekly within assigned markets, generally Monday through Thursday, and work onsite at client, temporary, or corporate locations as business needs require.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.

  • 5+ years of experience in Revenue Cycle, Patient Access, or Pre-Access within a hospital or large health system environment.

  • 5+ years of leadership experience, including responsibility for large or geographically dispersed teams.

  • Experience managing multiple health systems; acute-care experience is preferred.

  • Demonstrated success translating strategic initiatives, organizational goals, and vision into operational execution.

  • Strong experience with healthcare provider finance operations or a comparable service environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to use AI at an advanced level and translate AI capabilities into measurable business outcomes.

  • Strong business acumen with the ability to operate effectively across functions, organizational levels, and client environments.

  • Executive presence with the ability to communicate confidently, build credibility, make decisive recommendations, and remain composed under pressure.

  • Proven ability to lead diverse teams, influence stakeholders, and manage organizational change.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.

  • Strong critical-thinking, problem-solving, planning, and action-oriented decision-making skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships and drive accountability across complex organizations.

  • CRCR certification required within 9 months of employment, with certification support provided.

  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively, including weekly travel within assigned markets.

  • Candidates must reside in and be authorized to work in the United States.

Benefits
  • Annual base salary of $111,800–$160,000, depending on experience and other job-related factors.

  • Eligibility for annual incentive compensation.

  • Remote work structure with significant flexibility, subject to client and business requirements.

  • Comprehensive healthcare benefits supporting physical, emotional, and financial well-being.

  • Paid time off and other time-away benefits.

  • Retirement benefits and related financial wellness programs.

  • Professional certification opportunities, including support toward relevant industry credentials.

  • Tuition reimbursement and professional development opportunities.

  • Quarterly and annual incentive and recognition programs.

  • Opportunities to work on healthcare transformation, revenue cycle modernization, AI adoption, and operational improvement initiatives.
