Lead Research Analyst

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Lead Research Analyst based in the United States.

This is a senior, hands-on analytics role at the intersection of research, consulting, data interpretation, and client delivery.
You’ll lead complex analytical workstreams from initial problem framing through final insights and recommendations.
The role focuses on transforming large and complex workforce datasets into clear, decision-ready findings for strategic client initiatives.
You’ll create compelling narratives, visualizations, and presentations designed for both technical and executive audiences.
You’ll also help strengthen analytical standards by reviewing work, improving methodologies, and developing reusable frameworks and tools.
As a senior contributor, you’ll mentor analysts while collaborating closely with clients and internal teams in a dynamic consulting environment.
This opportunity is well suited to an analytical leader who combines technical depth, business judgment, attention to detail, and strong communication skills.

Accountabilities
  • End-to-End Analytical Delivery: Own complex analytical workstreams from problem definition and data exploration through analysis, interpretation, recommendations, and final delivery.

  • Insight Development: Transform complex workforce and business datasets into clear, actionable insights that support strategic decisions and organizational transformation.

  • Executive Storytelling: Develop polished narratives, visualizations, presentations, and other client-ready materials that communicate findings effectively to technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Quality Assurance: Validate data accuracy, analytical methodologies, assumptions, and outputs while ensuring work meets established delivery and quality standards.

  • Analytical Review: Review work produced by Analysts and Senior Analysts, providing guidance and feedback to strengthen analytical rigor and consistency.

  • Documentation: Maintain thorough documentation covering methodologies, data transformations, analytical assumptions, and key decisions.

  • Process Improvement: Monitor analytical workflows, identify inefficiencies and risks, and improve processes, methodologies, templates, and reusable analytical assets.

  • Scalable Solutions: Develop standard modules, frameworks, templates, and analytical resources that can be leveraged across current and future engagements.

  • Engagement Support: Help assess the feasibility, complexity, effort, and analytical requirements of proposed workstreams.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with internal teams and clients to ensure analytical approaches and outputs remain aligned with project objectives and business needs.

  • Mentorship: Support the development of analysts through knowledge sharing, feedback, coaching, and contributions to analytical best practices.

Requirements
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in analytics, consulting, research, or a closely related field.

  • Education: A degree in a quantitative discipline such as Economics, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field is preferred.

  • Analytical Ownership: Demonstrated ability to independently own complex analytical workstreams from problem framing through final delivery.

  • Data & Quantitative Skills: Strong background in quantitative analysis, data interpretation, quality assurance, and translating complex datasets into meaningful conclusions.

  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in SQL, Python, or comparable analytical programming tools.

  • Data Storytelling: Proven ability to create client-ready visualizations, presentations, narratives, and recommendations from analytical findings.

  • Business Acumen: Ability to balance analytical rigor, speed, ambiguity, and client context when developing solutions.

  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Quality Orientation: Excellent attention to detail and demonstrated ability to manage multiple analytical components while maintaining accuracy and consistency.

  • Client Experience: Experience working in client-facing or stakeholder-facing environments and adapting analytical outputs to business objectives.

  • Office & Collaboration Tools: Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Leadership: Experience mentoring analysts and contributing to reusable analytical frameworks, standards, or best practices.

  • Preferred Expertise: Experience with workforce analytics, skills data, HR technology, or labor economics is a plus.

  • Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer visa sponsorship.

  • Location: This is a remote position, but employment is limited to individuals residing and working in U.S. states where the partner is authorized to operate. The role is currently unavailable to candidates in Alaska, Arkansas, California, Delaware, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Vermont, West Virginia, and Wyoming.

Benefits

  • Professional Growth: Opportunity to work on complex analytical and consulting engagements with exposure to strategic client challenges.

  • Leadership Development: Opportunity to mentor analysts and contribute to analytical standards, methodologies, and reusable frameworks.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders across research, analytics, and consulting initiatives.

  • Impact: Direct opportunity to turn workforce and labor-market data into insights that support strategic decision-making.

  • Inclusive Environment: A workplace that values diverse perspectives, authenticity, and diversity of thought.

  • Global Exposure: Opportunity to contribute to work supporting organizations and partners across international markets.
