Job Description
The Material Handler plays a critical role in bridging inventory, shipping, and production operations. This position is responsible for transporting raw materials to production lines, moving finished goods to the warehouse, performing accurate inventory transactions in the ERP system, and maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with company and OSHA standards.
Essential Functions:
· Production Support: Deliver raw materials and supplies to manufacturing work centers in a timely manner to prevent production downtime.
· Material Movement: Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other powered industrial vehicles (PIV) to move goods throughout the facility.
· Inventory Accuracy: Scan and record inventory movements using the ERP/Inventory system and perform daily cycle counts with a high degree of accuracy.
· Shipping & Receiving: Unload incoming shipments, inspect for damage, and prepare finished products for shipping, including packing, labeling, and crating.
· Safety & Cleanliness: Adhere strictly to OSHA and company safety protocols. Maintain warehouse and production areas in a clean, orderly, and safe manner consistent with 5S standards.
· Documentation: Review production orders, packing lists, and inventory documents to verify accuracy and completeness.

Non-Essential Responsibilities:
· Performs other duties as directed by supervision
· Assists in general facility housekeeping and organization
· Supports other departments during peak periods as needed

Education/Background
· High school diploma or equivalent required
· 1 + years of experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or distribution environment preferred
· Proven experience operating forklifts (forklift certification is a plus; company will train qualified candidates)
· Familiarity with inventory control systems such as ERP, SAP, or barcode scanning
· Any coursework or certification in supply chain or logistics (e.g., APICS CPIM) is a plus
Work Environment:
This position involves working in a manufacturing and warehouse environment. The employee must be aware of potential hazards, including but not limited to: working in close proximity to moving mechanical parts, operating powered industrial vehicles, exposure to electrical current, high temperatures, and chemicals. A high level of alertness and caution must be maintained at all times while performing tasks in this work environment.
