Job Description
Mars Hill University is seeking qualified adjunct professors to teach part-time undergraduate courses. This position will teach the first-year composition class. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction, fostering student engagement, and contributing to the university's academic mission. Adjunct faculty are hired on a course-by-course basis and are expected to maintain professional standards in teaching and communication.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Teach assigned course(s) in accordance with departmental and university guidelines.
Develop and deliver course content, syllabi, and assignments that align with student learning outcomes.
Evaluate student performance and provide timely, constructive feedback.
Adhere to university policies regarding grading, attendance, and academic integrity.
Communicate effectively with students, department faculty, and staff.
Submit final grades and required course documentation in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
Master’s degree in the relevant field or a closely related discipline required; terminal degree preferred.
Prior teaching experience at the college or university level is highly desirable.
Commitment to excellence in teaching and supporting a diverse student population.
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in using learning management systems (e.g., Moodle, Canvas) and basic instructional technology.
