Job Description
This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Reservoir Engineer in India.
In this role, you will contribute to optimizing reservoir performance and enhancing production recovery across complex oil and gas assets within an integrated subsurface environment. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to analyze reservoir behavior, support field development planning, and guide both short- and long-term production strategies. The position plays a critical role in applying classical reservoir engineering methods to improve well performance, optimize depletion plans, and support decision-making for rig and rigless activities. You will collaborate with internal experts and external partners to ensure safe, efficient, and data-driven operations. This is a highly technical and impactful role suited for an experienced reservoir engineer who thrives in dynamic, fast-paced energy environments and enjoys solving complex subsurface challenges.
- Apply classical reservoir engineering techniques to analyze reservoir and well data, supporting production optimization and recovery enhancement strategies.
- Support the planning and execution of rig and rigless activities, including well interventions such as perforation design, stimulation, water shut-off, and hydrofracking recommendations.
- Conduct reservoir performance analysis using pressure transient analysis, decline curve analysis, and material balance methods to support field development decisions.
- Integrate static and dynamic subsurface data to improve understanding of reservoir behavior, depletion mechanisms, and production/injection optimization.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of depletion strategies, annual field activity plans, and performance management cycles.
- Provide technical input for identification, evaluation, and prioritization of value-generating subsurface opportunities.
- Collaborate with partner and internal subsurface teams to ensure safe operations and promote a strong HSE-focused working culture.
- Support ongoing monitoring and optimization of reservoir performance through data analysis, forecasting, and reporting activities.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Reservoir Engineering, or a related applied engineering discipline.
- Minimum 6+ years of experience as a Reservoir Engineer with strong exposure to classical reservoir engineering workflows and reserves estimation.
- Strong understanding of reservoir fundamentals including pressure transient analysis, decline curve analysis, and material balance techniques.
- Experience in reservoir management, performance optimization, and analytical reservoir engineering workflows.
- Hands-on experience with reservoir engineering tools such as PETEX IPM, Kappa (Saphir), or similar software.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex subsurface data and support decision-making.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills with experience working in cross-functional and partner-driven environments.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing business needs.
- Experience in waterflood management, gas reservoir management, or numerical reservoir simulation is an advantage.
- Competitive compensation package aligned with industry standards
- Opportunity to work on large-scale, complex global energy assets
- Exposure to advanced reservoir engineering tools and subsurface technologies
- Career development within a global, multidisciplinary technical environment
- Flexible working options and supportive work-life balance initiatives
- Strong emphasis on learning, training, and professional growth
- Inclusive and collaborative work culture across global teams
- Relocation support within India (where applicable).
