Full Stack Developer (NodeJS / AWS Serverless)

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Full Stack Developer (NodeJS / AWS Serverless) in the United States.

This role sits at the core of building and evolving modern cloud-native applications that support mission-critical services in a highly collaborative Agile environment. You will design and deliver scalable backend systems and APIs using serverless AWS architecture, with a strong emphasis on performance, reliability, and maintainability. The position involves close partnership with product stakeholders, QA, and engineering teams to translate requirements into robust technical solutions. You will contribute across the full development lifecycle, from design and implementation to testing and deployment. This is a hands-on engineering role where clean architecture, scalable systems, and continuous improvement are central to success. You will also play a key role in enhancing system performance and supporting ongoing feature evolution in a fast-paced delivery environment.

Accountabilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable APIs and backend services using a serverless AWS architecture.
  • Build and enhance full-stack features with a focus on performance, reliability, and system scalability.
  • Develop, test, and deploy high-quality code using modern frameworks and testing tools such as Mocha and Chai.
  • Collaborate closely with product owners, QA engineers, and cross-functional development teams in an Agile/Scrum environment.
  • Work with AWS services including Lambda, API Gateway, CloudFormation, S3, SNS, and SQS to support cloud-native solutions.
  • Support system optimization efforts, including performance tuning, scalability improvements, and reliability enhancements.
  • Contribute to ongoing application enhancements, UI improvements, and production support activities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in backend or full-stack software development.
  • Strong proficiency in NodeJS, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS serverless services, including Lambda, API Gateway, CloudFormation, S3, SNS, and SQS.
  • Experience working with ElasticSearch in production environments.
  • Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
  • Ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in fast-paced, iterative environments.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Preferred: experience supporting federal or government technology programs.
