About the Role
We're looking for a Quarry Operator to join our team at the Dipton Lime Quarry on a six month fixed term contract, to support the team during a peak period of work. You'll look after the effective, efficient operation of the processing plant and its machinery, ensuring production of high-quality lime.
You will get to learn how to safely run all our heavy machinery including bulldozers, loaders, excavators, ATD dump trucks, as well as our highly automated processing plant. You will receive training and mentoring from experienced operators to grow your skills and experience.
We are a busy quarry so there may be periods of shift work involved throughout the year and will be paid shift allowances for this work.
About You
If you already have quarry experience, then that's a definite bonus. But for the right person with a positive attitude towards safety and being part of a team, we're willing to invest the time and training to get you up to speed to use our plant equipment safely and effectively. You will need to be comfortable with technology and embrace the automation technology onsite.

Essential Skills and Experience:
- A commitment to following all health and safety requirements
- Mechanical skills and knowledge of basic repair work
- Tech Savvy
- Initiative and willingness to get stuck in and learn
- A valid NZ Full driver's license
- Reasonable physical fitness and able to lift heavy objects
Ideal but not essential:
- Experience operating front-end loaders and the relevant licences (Class 2, W and T endorsements desirable)
- Mobile plant or fixed processing plant experience is beneficial
- B-grade quarry managers ticket
- Quarrying or Mining experience
- An affiliation with the agriculture industry
