AVP Account Management - Government

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an AVP Account Management - Government based in the United States.

This is a senior client leadership role focused on driving growth, retention, and long-term strategic partnerships within government healthcare accounts. The position plays a critical role in managing complex, multi-level relationships with client organizations while ensuring alignment between customer needs and enterprise service offerings. You will act as the primary liaison between the organization and government clients, overseeing account health, issue resolution, and strategic expansion opportunities. The role requires a strong blend of executive relationship management, operational oversight, and commercial acumen within healthcare analytics and insurance environments. You will lead account strategies, coordinate cross-functional teams, and ensure consistent delivery of value across all client engagements. This is a high-impact, remote leadership role involving regular executive-level interactions and occasional travel.

Accountabilities:
  • Develop, manage, and strengthen long-term relationships with government healthcare clients, serving as the primary liaison and escalation point.
  • Oversee account strategy execution, including growth, renewal, retention, and expansion initiatives across assigned portfolios.
  • Conduct regular client meetings (weekly, monthly, quarterly) to review performance, address concerns, and identify opportunities for improvement or expansion.
  • Lead the preparation and delivery of executive reporting, including Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), performance updates, and steering committee presentations.
  • Collaborate closely with sales, operations, product, and marketing teams to align client needs with service delivery and product capabilities.
  • Identify client trends, risks, and opportunities, and translate insights into strategic recommendations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Drive issue resolution and ensure timely, effective handling of client concerns to maintain high satisfaction and retention levels.
  • Support business development efforts through RFP participation, conferences, webinars, and strategic client engagements.
  • Lead, coach, and develop account management talent to strengthen team performance and client success outcomes.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field (MBA preferred).
  • 15+ years of experience in healthcare, insurance, or healthcare analytics environments.
  • Strong background in account management, client success, or senior client-facing leadership roles.
  • Deep understanding of healthcare claims processing, payment policies, fraud detection, and regulatory compliance (including HIPAA).
  • Proven ability to manage and grow complex, multi-stakeholder enterprise or government client relationships.
  • Strong executive presence with experience engaging C-level stakeholders and senior decision-makers.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in building, mentoring, and retaining high-performing teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a strategic mindset and results-oriented approach.
  • Willingness to travel up to approximately 15% as needed.
