Chemistry Subject Matter Expert - AI Training

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Chemistry Subject Matter Expert – AI Training based in India.

This role sits at the intersection of scientific expertise and AI development, where your chemistry knowledge directly contributes to improving the quality and reliability of next-generation AI systems. You will be responsible for reviewing, creating, and refining scientific content that helps models better understand chemical concepts, reactions, and laboratory processes. The work involves ensuring high scientific accuracy while translating complex chemistry knowledge into clear, structured explanations usable for AI training. You will engage with experimental data, technical write-ups, and synthesis documentation, helping shape high-quality datasets. The environment is remote, collaborative, and detail-oriented, with a strong focus on precision and consistency. This is an opportunity to apply deep academic or industry chemistry expertise in a cutting-edge AI context without requiring prior AI experience. Your contribution will directly influence how effectively AI systems learn and reason about chemistry.

Accountabilities:
  • Review and evaluate chemistry-related content to ensure accuracy, clarity, and scientific rigor across datasets and training materials.
  • Create, edit, and validate experimental write-ups, synthesis reports, chemical analyses, and structured technical documentation.
  • Develop clear explanations of chemical principles, reaction mechanisms, laboratory procedures, and analytical methods across varying complexity levels.
  • Verify chemical equations, datasets, calculations, and experimental methodologies for correctness and consistency.
  • Provide structured feedback to improve chemistry datasets, guidelines, and documentation used in AI model training.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align scientific content with project goals and quality standards.
  • Contribute domain expertise to refine evaluation frameworks and content creation guidelines.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Chemistry or a closely related scientific discipline.
  • Proven experience preparing experimental reports, synthesis documentation, scientific publications, or technical analyses in academic or industry settings.
  • Strong understanding of core chemistry domains, including organic, inorganic, analytical chemistry, laboratory techniques, and data interpretation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex scientific concepts clearly and accurately.
  • High attention to detail with strong ability to review, validate, and refine technical scientific content.
  • Ability to translate complex chemistry knowledge for both technical and non-technical audiences when required.
  • Comfortable working independently in a remote, structured, and collaborative digital environment.
Benefits:
  • Competitive hourly compensation ranging from $20–$40/hour (contract-based role).
  • Fully remote work with flexible scheduling and asynchronous collaboration.
  • Opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge AI model development using your scientific expertise.
  • Exposure to large-scale AI training projects and advanced data-driven workflows.
  • Professional experience bridging chemistry and artificial intelligence applications.
  • Long-term collaboration potential based on performance and project needs.
