The Staff People Integrations Engineer will play a critical role in designing, scaling, and maintaining the technology ecosystem that supports modern workforce operations.
This position focuses on building reliable integrations between Workday and a broad range of People systems, ensuring secure and seamless data flows.
You will combine deep technical expertise with business partnership to create scalable solutions that improve employee experiences.
The role requires ownership of complex integration projects, from architecture and development through deployment, monitoring, and optimization.
Working across People, IT, Analytics, Security, and business teams, you will help shape the future of enterprise HR technology.

The Staff People Integrations Engineer will own the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of People technology integrations while ensuring reliable, secure, and scalable workforce data management.
- Own the health, maintenance, enhancement, and support of Workday integrations and the broader People technology ecosystem.
- Develop and maintain Workday integrations using Studio, EIBs, Core Connectors, Cloud Connect, APIs, and web services.
- Design scalable integration solutions connecting Workday with recruiting, identity management, benefits, workforce, learning, performance, and other enterprise systems.
- Lead integration projects throughout the full lifecycle, including requirements gathering, solution design, development, testing, deployment, documentation, monitoring, and support.
- Build automation solutions that reduce manual processes and improve operational efficiency.
- Establish monitoring, alerting, reconciliation, and incident response practices to ensure system reliability.
- Troubleshoot integration failures, identify root causes, and implement long-term technical improvements.
- Support advanced Workday configuration, including business processes, calculated fields, condition rules, validation rules, and security-related enhancements.
- Develop and maintain Workday reports, dashboards, and data extracts supporting operational, compliance, analytics, and business needs.
- Partner with business stakeholders to translate requirements into effective technical solutions.
- Collaborate with data teams to support workforce data pipelines, transformations, reporting platforms, and analytics capabilities.
- Contribute to technical governance, architecture standards, security practices, audit readiness, and change management processes.
- Evaluate new People technologies and provide guidance on integration feasibility, technical impacts, and implementation approaches.
- Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
The ideal candidate is a highly experienced Workday integration professional with strong engineering skills, enterprise systems expertise, and the ability to independently drive complex technical initiatives.
- 5+ years of experience designing, building, maintaining, and troubleshooting Workday integrations in People Technology or enterprise environments.
- Deep expertise with Workday integrations, including Studio, EIBs, Core Connectors, Cloud Connect, APIs, and web services.
- Strong knowledge of Workday configuration, including calculated fields, advanced reporting, business processes, condition rules, security concepts, and integrations.
- Experience developing complex Workday reports, dashboards, and data extracts.
- Experience integrating Workday with enterprise People systems such as recruiting, identity management, contingent workforce, learning, performance, or engagement platforms.
- Strong understanding of APIs, REST and SOAP services, authentication methods, data mapping, transformation, integration security, and testing practices.
- Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills across integrations, configuration, reporting, and security challenges.
- Ability to independently lead technical projects from initial concept through implementation and ongoing support.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams.
- Ability to balance technical quality with business priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with SQL, data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, cloud data platforms, or production data pipelines is highly valuable.
- Workday Integration Certification or Workday Pro certification is a plus.
- Experience with Workday Extend, Prism, BIRT reporting, workflow automation tools, iPaaS platforms, or AI-enabled workflows is preferred.
- Experience supporting SOX controls, access reviews, audit processes, or high-growth technology environments is a plus.
- Competitive base salary range of approximately $180,200–$252,300 USD depending on experience, skills, and location.
