Vice President, Publisher Sales & Strategic Partnerships

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Vice President, Publisher Sales & Strategic Partnerships based in the United States.

The Vice President, Publisher Sales & Strategic Partnerships will lead revenue growth by expanding and strengthening a high-value network of publishers and advertisers within the performance marketing ecosystem.
This role combines enterprise sales, strategic partnership development, and data-driven campaign optimization to accelerate business growth.
You will identify new market opportunities, build executive relationships, negotiate complex agreements, and develop partnerships that create long-term value.
The position offers significant ownership in shaping go-to-market strategies, expanding partner ecosystems, and driving measurable revenue impact.
Working across sales, operations, product, and analytics teams, you will help deliver scalable solutions and exceptional partner outcomes.

Accountabilities:

The Vice President, Publisher Sales & Strategic Partnerships is responsible for driving business development, managing strategic partnerships, and maximizing revenue growth through a strong understanding of performance marketing. This role requires a commercially focused leader who can build pipelines, close complex deals, and create sustainable partnerships.

  • Develop and execute a sales strategy to acquire new publishers and advertisers across performance marketing channels.
  • Build and manage a strong pipeline through outbound prospecting, industry relationships, referrals, and networking opportunities.
  • Identify new revenue opportunities within existing accounts through expansion, upselling, and cross-channel growth initiatives.
  • Negotiate commercial agreements, pricing structures, and partnership terms with strategic partners.
  • Build and maintain executive-level relationships with publishers, advertisers, and ecosystem stakeholders.
  • Develop partnerships that increase scale, improve media quality, and expand market reach.
  • Collaborate with leadership teams to define go-to-market strategies and launch new business opportunities.
  • Maintain strong awareness of industry trends, competitive dynamics, and emerging performance marketing opportunities.
  • Conduct strategic business reviews with partners to identify growth opportunities and strengthen relationships.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor by recommending new products, channels, and optimization strategies.
  • Oversee campaign launches, performance tracking, pacing, and optimization initiatives.
  • Partner with operations, business intelligence, product, and engineering teams to improve campaign effectiveness and operational efficiency.
  • Analyze campaign performance data to identify opportunities for increased scale, improved ROI, and stronger partner outcomes.
  • Represent the organization externally through industry events, networking, and strategic conversations.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate is a senior sales and partnerships professional with deep expertise in performance marketing, digital advertising, and publisher ecosystems. Success in this role requires strong commercial instincts, relationship-building capabilities, analytical skills, and the ability to drive revenue in complex environments.

  • 7+ years of experience in performance marketing, affiliate marketing, publisher development, business development, or digital advertising sales.
  • Proven track record of acquiring, growing, and managing publisher and advertiser partnerships.
  • Existing relationships across affiliate marketing, performance media, digital publishing, or advertising ecosystems.
  • Strong understanding of performance marketing economics, including CPL, CPA, CPC, ROAS, attribution models, and campaign optimization.
  • Experience negotiating strategic commercial agreements and managing high-value partnerships.
  • Familiarity with affiliate platforms such as Cake, Everflow, Tune, Impact, or similar technologies.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with experience using reporting and analytics tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Google Analytics, or comparable platforms.
  • Excellent negotiation, presentation, communication, and executive relationship management skills.
  • Ability to identify emerging market opportunities and translate them into revenue-generating strategies.
  • Experience in higher education performance marketing is strongly preferred.
  • Additional experience in lead generation verticals such as financial services, insurance, healthcare, or home services is a plus.
  • Experience managing publisher email inventory and affiliate media is preferred.
  • Self-motivated, strategic, and comfortable operating with significant ownership and autonomy.
