Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesPatient Enrollment & Registration
  • Enroll new and existing patients into East Arkansas Family Health Center programs.
  • Verify insurance eligibility and benefits.
  • Determine patient eligibility for the Sliding Fee Discount Program.
  • Collect and review proof of income and required documentation.
  • Educate patients on the Sliding Fee Discount Program and enrollment requirements.
  • Enroll patients in the Patient Portal and provide education on its benefits.
  • Maintain accurate patient demographic and insurance information within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
Front Office & Patient Intake
  • Welcome patients and visitors with professionalism and compassion.
  • Schedule, reschedule, confirm, and cancel patient appointments.
  • Answer incoming telephone calls and direct them appropriately.
  • Verify and update patient demographic information.
  • Identify and document the patient's reason for visit.
  • Make appointment reminder calls and communicate payment expectations when appropriate.
  • Maintain patient flow throughout the clinic.
Financial Responsibilities
  • Collect co-pays, balances, and other patient payments.
  • Balance and reconcile the daily cash drawer.
  • Issue receipts and accurately document financial transactions.
  • Maintain accountability for assigned cash and payment records.
Customer Service
  • Provide exceptional customer service during every patient interaction.
  • Explain clinic services and available programs.
  • Assist patients with questions regarding appointments, enrollment, insurance, and financial assistance.
  • Work collaboratively with clinical staff, providers, and administrative departments to ensure efficient patient care.
Compliance & Quality Improvement
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and organizational policies.
  • Participate in Quality Improvement initiatives.
  • Report unusual occurrences and patient concerns appropriately.
  • Attend required meetings and training sessions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
QualificationsRequired
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of customer service or medical office experience.
  • Strong computer and data entry skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to accurately collect payments and balance a cash drawer.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
