Warehouse Associate w/ a Class A CDL in Rice, Texas at CAROLINA ATLANTIC ROOFING SUPPLY LLC

We are seeking a dependable and organized Warehouse associate with a Class A CDL. This position includes general warehouse responsibilities including inventory control, loss prevention, as well as shipping and receiving documentation. Filling in for drivers and picking up routes as needed. All delivery routes are within a 200-mile radius. Must be detail-oriented, efficient, and have a clean driving record.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Inventory control
• Preparing trucks for the day
• Loading/unloading
• Drive trucks with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) over 26,000 lbs.
• Pull a towed weight exceeding 10,000 lbs.
• Ensure trailer hitch is properly and securely attached to the tractor unit
• Transport goods from the place of origin to the assigned destination
• Pick up loads and organizes goods in an ordered, logical manner
• Safely and efficiently handle and unload goods at selected destinations
• Obtain signatures to confirm and complete deliveries with clients
• Maintain and service vehicles as needed (refuel, change oil, tire pressure, repairs, etc.)
• Notify managers of any major maintenance or delivery issues encountered
• Oversee the proper use of all ELD
• Adhere to company rules and regulations
• Comply with DOT regulations
• Always make safety a priority

REQUIREMENTS

• MUST be a team player
• Valid Class A driver's license required
• 2+ years of proven experience with tractor-trailer driving preferred
• Warehouse experience
• Clean driving record
• Must pass a background check and drug test
• Ability to lift to 50 lbs. at a time
• Able to operate an electric lift, hand trucks, pallet jacks, etc.
• Proficient in using GPS and other routing systems
• Disciplined, dependable, and resourceful
• Customer service skills and ability to represent the company in an appropriate manner
