3RD SHIFT PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR in Plain City, Ohio at OHIO LASER INC

Ohio Laser, Inc is seeking a 3rd Shift Production Supervisor who is responsible for the safety, quality and productivity of the production areas. Focus should be to develop and manage personnel, equipment, and facilities to meet production performance and company goals. Ohio Laser is a clean and modern metal fabrication shop located in Plain City, Ohio close to the Dublin area. Operate facilities and get machines running at the start of the shift (11:00PM)Turn on and warm up equipment for shift startDirect and coordinate employee activities to achieve plant goals while maximizing productionEnforce safety rules and standardsReport and follow-through equipment maintenance needsCommunicate attendance issues daily with Production Manager and Human ResourcesOversee any facility maintenance scheduled on shiftStrong support of continuous improvement projects and leader in transformational activesProvide feedback to Production Manager and Human Resources on employee’s abilities, capabilities, performance issues, etc.Supervise quality processes performed by operatorsBe involved in the process of on-boarding and hiring new associatesCleanliness and organization of production facilityEnforce work rules and policiesParticipate in the candidate interview processMaintains regular and punctual attendance

Essential Skills:

Excellent Communication skillsMust be able to effectively and productively direct and manage production and production support personnel.Functional understanding of manufacturing to include raw materials usage, equipment operation and established quality systems.Ability to make timely and effective judgement calls and take responsible action and decisions.Must be able to routinely lift a minimum of fifty (50) pounds.

Education and Other Requirements:

4 year College Degree in Management or related on the job experience supervising 10+ people at one time with a minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience.
