Position Description: Operations Manager – Hausman Foods

Reports to: Director of Operations

Overview:

King’s Command / Hausman Foods is seeking a qualified candidate to lead our team at Hausman Foods, located in Corpus Christi, TX.

The Operations Manager is a key leader who facilitates teamwork and promotes a positive team atmosphere among all disciplines, focuses on achieving both short- and long-term objectives, and effectively communicates progress towards the identified objectives.

Food manufacturing experience required.

Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

This is an ONSITE position.

Requirements:

Primary Responsibilities:

· The Operations Manager directly oversees the day-to-day activities of the Production, Supply Chain, and Maintenance, collectively referred to as the Operations Team, along with indirect responsibility for the Food Safety & Quality (FSQ) team.

· Provide training and resources necessary to comply with plant Safety, Food Safety, Human Resources, and Workforce Development.

· Support company safety initiatives by providing appropriate training for team members and performing routine auditing of the facility and compliance with safe work practices, identifying and implementing improvements in the work environment, and standardizing best practices.

· Coordinate the actions of the Operations and FSQ teams to maintain facility and equipment and work practices that comply with Sanitary Performance Standards (SPS) and Standard Sanitary Operating Procedures (SSOP) in compliance with regulatory and 3rd party audit requirements.

· Directly supervise the production process through effective communication of daily production objectives, assigning staffing resources, monitoring progress, verifying of throughput rates, and making process adjustments to maximize effectiveness.

· Develop a solid understanding and knowledge of processes and equipment. Facilitate training for the operations team on standard operating procedures to maximize operational effectiveness related to yield improvement, labor efficiency, and cost control.

· Develop Key Performance Indicators and performance expectations for plant operations and personnel.

· Maintain time and attendance for direct reports.

· Support and ensure compliance with company policies and coordinate with Human Resources to administer corrective actions / disciplinary actions, as necessary.

· Provide direction and priorities to plant maintenance personnel when responding to non-routine work to minimize downtime.

· Function as a point of contact for the 3rd-party sanitation team and support needs to effectively complete daily sanitation.

· Coordinate maintenance and production activities in support of Continuous Improvement objectives. Assist in managing projects and preventative maintenance initiatives with the internal maintenance team and outside contractors/service providers.

· Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

· Five to ten years of experience leading plant operations in a Food Manufacturing environment, with a strong preference for Meat and Poultry Further Processing experience.

· Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team. Strong work ethic and high energy level. Long-term career-minded individual.

· Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with all levels of employees as well as government officials and third-party service providers.

· Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.

· Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.

· HACCP Training and Certification.

· Experience working in a Continuous Improvement environment.

· Experience in utilizing computerized systems, including Microsoft Office applications, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems.

· Minimum High School Diploma or GED. Postgraduate education and training in Business Administration / Management, Meat Science, and Manufacturing Technology preferred.
