Patient Care Technician in Fort Wayne, Indiana at Parkview Health

Randallia OR is a 24/7 perioperative services department serving pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients across a wide range of surgical specialties, including urology, gynecology, general surgery, podiatry, ophthalmology, robotic procedures, and Cesarean sections. The unit operates around the clock with varying weekday schedules for registered nurses, certified surgical technologists, and certified surgical first assistants, while maintaining continuous coverage to support both scheduled and emergent cases. Care is delivered by a highly collaborative perioperative team focused on safety, efficiency, and highquality surgical outcomes in a fastpaced surgical environment.

Education

Must have a HS Diploma or GED. If candidate is at least 17 years of age but does not yet have a current high school diploma/GED, the following requirements must be met: must be actively working towards high school diploma/GED and receive within 2 years of hire.

Licensure/Certification

Must obtain CPR certification within 60 days of hire. CNA/EMT/Paramedic certification preferred.

Experience

Minimum of 1 year experience working in the patient care setting preferred, but not required.

Other Qualifications

Must be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of general computer skills and applications. Demonstrates ability to multi-task and work independently using critical thinking skills. Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

Must be able to attend mandatory training days week of start. New Hire Orientation (Monday – all day) and Patient Care Essentials/Epic (Tuesday-Thursday – all day).
