This is the second operations position on the program. The role is approximately 50% people operations and 50% physical operations. People operations is the priority and centers on recruitment: sourcing, screening, and onboarding canvassers and field staff, approving payroll, and handling personnel issues and escalations. Physical operations covers field office setup, supply logistics, and material distribution across a large and rural program footprint. This position cannot be performed entirely remotely.
Responsibilities

- Run operational onboarding through Justworks, ensuring new hires complete paperwork, background screening, payroll setup, and compliance steps, and coordinating with the field team to confirm onboarding is complete before a first shift
- Coordinate with the Deputy Field Director and Regional Field Directors to review and approve canvasser hours, confirming accuracy and completeness before payroll runs
- Process staff expenses and reimbursements, reviewing submissions and approving through Justworks
- Handle routine HR matters: staff questions, documentation, and issue escalation
- Assist with sourcing, leasing, and setting up field offices and staging locations
- Coordinate supply projections, ordering, distribution across regions, and end-of-program shutdown
- Step in for the State Operations Director as needed
- Other operations work as the program requires
Qualifications
- 2+ years of operations, logistics, or coordination experience; campaign or field experience a plus
- Recruitment or hiring experience strongly preferred, particularly at volume
- Strong organization and follow-through; able to own deadlines independently
- Comfortable working across a large rural footprint with significant driving between sites
- Clear communicator who can convey process to non-operational staff
- Proficient with Google Workspace and able to learn new tools quickly; experience with Justworks a plus
- Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle; access to a phone and computer; available for evening and weekend work
