Description:

Position Summary

The Medical Assistant provides clinical and administrative support to the physician and practice team in a plastic surgery and cosmetic procedures practice. This role assists with patient consultations, aesthetic treatments, minor procedures, patient education, and daily office operations while ensuring a high level of patient care and service.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Assist the providers during consultations, cosmetic procedures, and follow-up visits.
  • Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, syringes, and supplies for aesthetic and cosmetic treatments in accordance with office protocols.
  • Room patients, obtain medical histories, record vital signs, and document patient information.
  • Take and manage clinical photographs for patient records.
  • Provide pre- and post-procedure instructions and patient education.
  • Maintain inventory of medical supplies, injectables, and skincare products.
  • Ensure treatment rooms are clean, stocked, and prepared for patient care.
  • Schedule appointments, coordinate follow-up visits, and assist with patient communications.
  • Answer phones, respond to patient inquiries, and support front office operations as needed.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA and practice policies.
Requirements:

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Medical Assistant certification preferred.
  • Previous experience in plastic surgery, dermatology, aesthetics, cosmetic medicine, or a medical office preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, patient care procedures, and infection control practices.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and discretion.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and basic computer applications.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
  • Ability to sit, bend, stoop, reach, and lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to visually assess treatment areas and accurately document patient information.
