Working remotely with occasional on-site delivery, you will engage diverse government and contractor audiences. Accountabilities

The Training Specialist is responsible for designing, delivering, and continuously improving training programs that support IT procurement and acquisition excellence within a federal environment. This includes developing multi-format learning content, assessing training effectiveness, and collaborating with stakeholders to close knowledge gaps and improve workforce capability.

  • Design and deliver structured training programs covering procurement tools, systems, and acquisition best practices across diverse audiences.
  • Develop instructional materials in multiple formats including in-person sessions, virtual live training, and self-paced video modules.
  • Conduct training needs assessments to identify gaps and tailor learning solutions accordingly.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness through feedback collection, performance metrics, and continuous content refinement.
  • Support cross-training initiatives to enhance workforce flexibility and operational continuity.
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives including procurement process improvements, business development, and proposal support documentation.
  • Produce training summaries and content for communications such as newsletters, white papers, and stakeholder updates.
Requirements

This role requires extensive experience in IT procurement, acquisition support, or related government contracting environments, along with strong instructional design and communication skills. The ideal candidate is highly organized, adaptable, and capable of translating complex regulatory concepts into clear, actionable learning content.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, IT, Education, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in IT procurement, acquisition support, or a related functional area.
  • Proven ability to design and deliver training programs in corporate or government contracting environments.
  • Strong understanding of procurement regulations, compliance requirements, and acquisition lifecycle processes.
  • Experience creating instructional materials, SOPs, or structured learning documentation preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to simplify complex topics.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Certifications such as CPTM, CFCM, or instructional design credentials are a plus.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across stakeholders and exercise sound judgment in problem-solving.
