The Structural Engineer will be responsible for the design, analysis and coordination of structural elements associated with modular buildings, substations and related infrastructure. The successful candidate will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure designs are safe, compliant, cost-effective and suitable for manufacture and installation.


This role offers the opportunity to be involved throughout the full project lifecycle, from concept design through to fabrication and project delivery.



Key Responsibilities

  • Design and analyse structural steelwork, modular building frames and associated structural components.
  • Produce structural calculations, reports and technical documentation.
  • Develop and review structural drawings, details and specifications.
  • Coordinate structural designs with Electrical, Mechanical, Architectural and BIM teams.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant Eurocodes, Irish Building Regulations and industry standards.
  • Review designs for constructability, manufacturability and installation requirements.
  • Support project teams by responding to technical queries and design changes.
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers throughout project delivery.
  • Participate in design reviews, risk assessments and value engineering exercises.
  • Assist with resolving structural issues identified during fabrication, installation or commissioning.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within engineering and design processes.

Requirements

  • Degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering or related discipline.
  • Experience in structural design within construction, manufacturing, modular construction or industrial environments.
  • Strong knowledge of structural analysis and design principles.
  • Experience designing structural steelwork.
  • Proficiency in structural design software and engineering calculations.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Desirable

  • Experience within modular construction, data centres, substations or industrial projects.
  • Experience using software such as Tekla Structural Designer, STAAD.Pro, Robot Structural Analysis or similar.
  • Familiarity with BIM workflows and multidisciplinary coordination.
  • Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership.
  • Knowledge of fabrication and manufacturing processes.
