This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Principal AI Systems & Operations Technologist based in Canada.

This is a fully remote, full-time opportunity for a senior technical leader shaping the practical application of AI across enterprise software environments.
You’ll design and deploy AI-powered workflows, agentic systems, RAG solutions, automation platforms, and internal productivity tools.
The role combines hands-on software engineering with systems architecture, cloud integrations, operational automation, and AI enablement.
You’ll work across applications, APIs, databases, payment systems, and third-party platforms to build scalable and measurable solutions.
As a senior individual contributor, you’ll influence architecture, mentor technical teams, and help translate business challenges into high-impact technology initiatives.
You’ll also engage with customers, partners, executives, and cross-functional teams through technical discussions, demonstrations, and proof-of-concept engagements.
This role is ideal for an experienced technologist who enjoys solving complex problems, experimenting with emerging AI capabilities, and turning innovation into operational results.

Accountabilities:
  • Design, develop, and deploy AI-powered workflows, agentic systems, RAG solutions, operational automation platforms, and internal productivity tools.
  • Develop and maintain modern software solutions across multiple enterprise application and kiosk ecosystems, applying strong engineering and architectural practices.
  • Build and maintain integrations between applications, REST APIs, databases, cloud services, payment platforms, and third-party technologies.
  • Identify automation opportunities with leadership and translate them into scalable solutions that improve operational efficiency, customer outcomes, and business performance.
  • Serve as a senior technical resource during customer meetings, enterprise architecture discussions, partner assessments, and proof-of-concept initiatives.
  • Create technical demonstrations, ROI models, implementation frameworks, and migration strategies that support commercial growth and customer adoption.
  • Support deployment, fulfillment, onboarding, and support teams through diagnostics, automation, telemetry, and operational tooling.
  • Contribute to architecture reviews, technical debt reduction, quality initiatives, CI/CD improvements, platform modernization, and AI-augmented development practices.
  • Partner with research and development leadership to evaluate technical priorities, architectural direction, and product roadmap initiatives.
  • Provide senior-level technical guidance to development teams and help resolve complex engineering, software, and integration challenges.
  • Contribute hands-on to coding, code reviews, system design, testing strategies, and modernization initiatives.
  • Support AI governance, technical training, runbooks, and organizational adoption programs.
  • Lead initiatives and influence technical outcomes while operating effectively without formal supervisory authority.
  • Take on additional technical and operational responsibilities as business needs evolve.
Requirements:
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in software engineering, systems architecture, solution development, or a closely related technical discipline.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Python, SQL, REST APIs, system integrations, and enterprise application development.
  • Practical knowledge of AI technologies, including large language models (LLMs), prompt engineering, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and AI orchestration frameworks.
  • Experience with C#, .NET, Java, cloud-hosted applications, or comparable enterprise technologies.
  • Strong understanding of software architecture, application integrations, cloud environments, APIs, and modern development practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business objectives into practical technical solutions with measurable business value and ROI.
  • Experience operating as a senior individual contributor within a software product development organization.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to work effectively with executives, customers, partners, engineers, and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, particularly when addressing complex technical and integration challenges.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence technical decisions, mentor peers, lead initiatives, and drive outcomes without direct management authority.
  • Experience with SaaS platforms, operational automation, sales engineering, or solution consulting is an asset.
  • Familiarity with tools and technologies such as Retool, Power Automate, LangChain, LangGraph, or MCP-enabled tooling is preferred.
  • Experience with kiosk, endpoint, or other specialized enterprise technology environments is an advantage.
Benefits:

  • Career development: Opportunities to work with emerging AI technologies and modern enterprise software architectures.
  • Learning: Access to opportunities for technical growth, experimentation, and professional development.
  • Impact: Ability to influence AI adoption, automation, product modernization, and operational efficiency at enterprise scale.
  • Culture: Collaborative, supportive, and innovative work environment.
  • Employee experience: A workplace designed to give employees autonomy and opportunities to make a meaningful difference.
  • Stability: Opportunity to join a financially established organization with a broad international presence.
  • Additional benefits: Comprehensive benefits package and additional employee perks.
