Buyer I- temp in San Antonio, Texas at Knight Aerospace Medical Systems

We are looking for a temporally Worker:

1. Schedule: Full-Time Hours
2. FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
3. Pay: Hourly
4. Duration: Up to 3 months, with possibility of extension based on business needs
5. Work Arrangement: 100% On-Site – San Antonio, TX; not hybrid or remote
6. Benefits: Not eligible as a Temporary Employee, except as required by law or applicable benefit-plan terms

Position Summary:

The Buyer I is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and coordinating delivery of materials, parts, and services for aerospace manufacturing. These will include negotiating purchase order terms, ensure supplier comprehension of quality and compliance requirements, and identify cost-effective solutions. The Buyer I will represent the Company and its values and will ensure that the expectations of the Company’s customers are exceeded by performing the following:

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Identify, evaluate and select qualified suppliers to meet the cost, quality and delivery.
2. Manage suppliers/subcontractors to ensure quotes, certifications and terms are well defined.
3. Support the daily shop floor stand-up meetings, provide material delivery updates and ensure internal stakeholders procurement requirements are understood.
4. Ensure supplier master data accuracy.
5. Maintain procurement KPI’s (OTD, Cost, Quality)
6. Track savings opportunities for both cost reduction and cost avoidance.
7. Strong communication skills to liaise with all levels of leadership/stakeholders on any potential slips on program schedules, budget, or compliance.
8. Ensure all procured materials and services comply with strict aerospace regulations, such as AS9100, and industry-specific standards.

Qualifications:

1. 3-5 years of purchasing experience required (preferably in aerospace)
2. Bachelor’s degree highly preferred
3. APICS & CPSM Certification preferred.
4. Solid work experience with ERP systems and a proficient user of Microsoft Office Suite

1. Office, warehouse, and manufacturing environment.
2. Occasional travel may be required.
