Job Description
As Financial Accountant within our Capex team, you will oversee the end-to-end management of capital expenditure (capex), fixed assets, and inventory across our global network. This role plays a key part in ensuring capitalised wages, fixed asset and intangible registers, and inventory ledgers are accurately maintained and compliant. You will also drive continuous improvement and automation of related systems, processes, and controls.
Additionally, you will have the opportunity to work closely with other departments including Sales, Operations, Procurement and Engineering. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate proven experience in applying IFRS accounting standards, have a strong understanding of financial principles, and possess an analytical edge to provide meaningful analysis and reporting to management. You will also drive continuous improvement and automation of related systems, processes, and controls.
What Youll Be Doing- Manage capital work in progress through to asset capitalisation upon project completion
- Maintain fixed asset, intangible asset, and inventory registers across multiple regions in coordination with cross-functional teams
- Partner with stakeholders to track and communicate the status of current and upcoming capital projects
- Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies and procedures for capitalisation, fixed assets, and inventory management
- Act as the key finance lead for wage capitalisation
- Prepare asset schedules, including movement analysis for half-year and year-end financial reporting
- Support external audit, addressing fixed asset and inventory related queries
- Develop commercial understanding of key supplier contracts to inform asset management decisions
- Contribute to annual budgeting and rolling forecasts with capex inputs
- Prepare ad hoc reports and analysis as needed
- Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role
- CPA, CA, or equivalent qualification (or currently studying toward one)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
- Strong understanding of financial management in a technology-driven environment
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Intermediate to advanced Excel proficiency
- Experience working in a global organisation with multi-jurisdictional operations
- Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics D365 or other large ERP systems
